We’re opening our upcoming industrial hygiene webinar to the public!

This session was originally planned as a client-only webinar, but we believe the information is too valuable not to share.

The Three Approaches to Industrial Hygiene: Which One Is Right for Your Organization?

Our experts will compare conducting exposure assessments in-house, using insurance carrier resources, and partnering with an industrial hygiene consultant. We’ll cover the benefits and limitations of each approach, common mistakes that can affect exposure data, and best practices for addressing workplace exposure concerns.

Thursday, August 27

Silica exposure isn’t always visible.

Cutting, grinding, or drilling materials like concrete, stone, and brick can release respirable crystalline silica into the air—even when a task doesn’t look particularly dusty.

Exposure monitoring helps identify the risk, evaluate existing controls, and determine what additional protection employees may need.

You can’t manage an exposure you haven’t measured.

Not every workplace injury is OSHA recordable, but the way you respond in the first few minutes can influence what happens next.

OSHA considers treatments such as cleaning a wound, applying a bandage, using hot or cold therapy, and taking nonprescription medication at a nonprescription dose to be first aid.

A case may become recordable when it involves medical treatment beyond first aid, restricted work, days away from work, loss of consciousness, or another recording criterion.

That’s why the initial response matters.

When employees have immediate access to qualified clinical guidance, they can receive the right level of care based on the injury, not simply be sent to a clinic or emergency room by default. A consistent response process can also help employers:

• Evaluate the injury quickly
• Direct the employee to appropriate care
• Document what happened and what treatment was provided
• Identify cases that may require additional follow-up
• Support better outcomes for both the employee and the organization

The goal is to give each employee the right care at the right time while helping the organization respond consistently, document the incident accurately, and determine the appropriate next steps.

A strong injury response starts before the injury happens.

Headaches, dizziness, unusual fatigue, confusion and muscle cramps can all be early warning signs. Make sure employees know what to watch for and feel comfortable speaking up before symptoms become more serious.
