🚫 Why we can’t laser over tattoos

Laser hair removal targets dark pigment (melanin) in the hair… but tattoos are FULL of pigment too.

👉 If we pass the laser over a tattoo:
• The laser gets attracted to the ink instead of the hair
• It can overheat the skin
• This may cause burns, blisters, or scarring
• It can also distort or fade your tattoo unevenly
• Tattoo ink needs to be removed from the body because it is a foreign object.
💡 that is why Tattoo removal lasers are completely different—they’re designed to safely break down ink. Hair removal lasers are not.

✨ So to keep your skin safe (and your tattoo looking good), we always avoid those areas.

Not all laser goggles are created equal.

When working with medical lasers like Alexandrite (755nm) or Nd:YAG (1064nm), your eye protection must match the correct wavelength and Optical Density (OD) listed on the goggles.

If the wavelength isn’t listed… or the OD is too low… your eyes may not actually be protected.

Before every treatment, check:
• Wavelength coverage
• Optical Density (OD) rating
• Certification for medical lasers

Your eyesight is not replaceable. Protect it properly.
