Today, the Minnesota Office of Emergency Medical Services is proud to launch the Minnesota EMS Years of Service Recognition Program.

EMS professionals dedicate years of their lives to serving Minnesota communities. Whether paid or volunteer, every year of service represents time spent answering calls, supporting patients, and strengthening local emergency medical services.

The program recognizes cumulative Minnesota EMS service at five-year milestones beginning at 5 years and continuing through 50+ years of service.

Participating EMS organizations may now submit eligible recipients for recognition through the Minnesota EMS Years of Service Recognition Program.

Governor Tim Walz has officially proclaimed May 17–23, 2026, as Emergency Medical Services Week in the State of Minnesota.

EMS professionals serve communities across Minnesota 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing lifesaving care, supporting public health, and strengthening our emergency response system.

The Office of Emergency Medical Services extends its appreciation to the EMS professionals, educators, dispatchers, physicians, nurses, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and support personnel who make this work possible.
