Recently, a large group of participants ventured to Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden in Evansville for a day filled with exploration, learning, and fun. 🦒🐒☀️

From visiting their favorite animals to discovering new species along the way, the group enjoyed a wonderful day experiencing everything the zoo has to offer. The outing also included a picnic lunch, giving everyone the opportunity to relax, connect with friends, and enjoy a beautiful day together.

Experiences like these provide more than just a fun day out. They encourage physical activity, social interaction, curiosity, and lifelong learning while helping participants engage with the world around them in meaningful ways.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Mesker Park Zoo for their continued hospitality and for creating such a welcoming environment for our groups. Your dedication to education, conservation, and accessibility helps make these visits memorable for everyone involved.

What an incredible morning of conversation, collaboration, and learning! 💼✨

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make our first Say Yes To Success: Employer Roundtable a success.

Thank you to our moderator, Allyson Sanders, for guiding thoughtful discussions throughout the morning, and to our outstanding speakers who shared their expertise, experiences, and insights on inclusive hiring and workforce development.

A special thank you to our partners at Coalition Forward for helping make this event possible, and to Pinocchio's Deli for providing a delicious breakfast for our guests.

Most importantly, thank you to the employers, business leaders, educators, service providers, and community partners who took time out of their schedules to join us. Your willingness to learn, ask questions, share experiences, and explore inclusive employment opportunities demonstrates the strength of our community and its commitment to creating opportunities for all.

Together, we discussed autism in the workplace, employer supports, the business benefits of inclusive hiring, and real-world employment success stories. The conversations that took place around each table were powerful reminders that when businesses and community partners work together, everyone benefits.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, marks this powerful moment in history and serves as a reminder of the ongoing journey toward justice and equality.

📣 We Will Be Closed Tomorrow 📣

The Opportunity Center of Owensboro will be closed tomorrow, Friday, June 19th.

As we continue making improvements to our facility through our restroom expansion project, we will be pausing services for the day to allow crews to safely complete flooring installation and other finishing work. The safety of our participants and staff remains our highest priority.

The closure also provides an opportunity for our participants and their families to observe Juneteenth and reflect on its historical significance.

We appreciate your patience and support as we work to create an even better environment for those we serve. We look forward to seeing everyone when we return to regular business hours on Monday!

This complimentary roundtable is designed for inclusive employers and for businesses interested in learning how to build a more inclusive workforce.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in open, meaningful discussion around key topics impacting disability employment today, while connecting with other community leaders who are committed to growth, workforce development, and opportunity.

The event will include breakfast and networking, followed by four guided roundtable rotations featuring experts and real-world insight. Discussion topics will include:
