🏅 A little late, but too good not to share—celebrating big wins for Mississippi’s future in healthcare!

What an inspiring weekend at the MAFP Spring Conference! 👏

We were honored to be part of a gathering that brought together family medicine physicians, residents, and students from across Mississippi—all committed to advancing care and improving health outcomes in our communities. 🤝

A special highlight: watching our Delta Scholars present their research, including work on social determinants of health and diabetes across Mississippi. Even more exciting—several earned Blue Ribbon awards for their outstanding presentations! 🎉

At the Mississippi Diabetes Network, our mission is to improve diabetes outcomes through education, early detection, and community-based prevention—and weekends like this highlight the power of collaboration across healthcare, education, and public health in moving that mission forward. 💙

We are enjoying serving Pontotoc County by providing a free diabetes health screening at this wonderful community health fair in Ecru today! 🩵

A special thank you to Ecru Second Baptist Church Outreach Ministry and St. Paul M.B. Church for partnering with us and opening your doors to the community 🙏🏽

During this event, we provided A1C, BP and blood sugar checks, helping individuals better understand their health 🩺 We identified cases of undiagnosed prediabetes and individuals living with unmanaged hypertension—creating opportunities for early intervention, education, and support.

✨This is exactly why this work matters.✨

If you’re in North Mississippi and would like for us to come provide FREE diabetes screenings, we would love to partner with you!

We offer services at worksites, community events, schools, and churches—bringing education and prevention directly to the people who need it most.

What a great day at the University of Mississippi for Mississippi Day! ☀️🎉

We were honored to partner with the university’s Department of Public Health to provide FREE diabetes screenings on campus. With beautiful weather and a great turnout, we were able to check A1C, blood pressure, and blood sugar for so many participants 🩺

Most importantly, we had meaningful conversations—helping individuals understand their numbers and, in some cases, identify prediabetes or diabetes for the first time. Each person left with valuable information and encouragement to follow up with their primary care provider 💙

A huge shoutout to our Delta Scholar third-year School of Osteopathic Medicine students—they were phenomenal and made a big impact! 👏

Grateful for a day full of education, connection, and community health!

We had a great time in Grenada, Mississippi partnering with the Mississippi Department of Health to provide FREE diabetes screenings to the community! 💙

We offered on-site blood pressure, blood sugar, and A1C screenings—all at no cost—helping individuals take a proactive step toward better health 🩺

This past Saturday, February 14, the MS Diabetes Network was honored to participate in the Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library’s “Reads and Beats” event in recognition of Heart Health Month!

Our team provided free health screenings to community members, including:
✔️ Blood Pressure Checks 🩺
✔️ Blood Glucose Screenings🩸
✔️ A1c Testing🩸

These screenings are a vital step in helping individuals better understand their risk for diabetes and cardiovascular disease—because prevention and early detection save lives.

We were also thrilled to be joined by the Delta Scholars medical students from William Carey University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, one of our valued partners. Their dedication to community outreach and patient education made a tremendous impact, and we are grateful for their service alongside us.

Thank you to the library for hosting such a meaningful event and to everyone who stopped by to take charge of their health. Together, we are building healthier Mississippi communities—one screening at a time.
