💉 We do have preservative-free, traditional flu vaccines (regular dose & high dose for those 65+) available at our office for patients who are interested.

🩷 OCTOBER = Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast cancer is still THE MOST COMMON CANCER IN WOMEN.

📉 Standard guidelines advise all women to begin screening mammograms at age 40 & you should always practice frequent self-exams.

‼️ Guidelines for women with a strong family history of breast cancer are individualized based on risk level. The more dense breast tissue you have, the more difficult it is for a mammogram to find cancer. AND the higher your RISK becomes of developing breast cancer.

👉🏻 If your mammogram defines your breast tissue as being "heterogeneous fibroglandular/dense" PLEASE ASK your provider about MRI screenings. In some cases, insurance will cover these but if not, there are out of pocket options if you still want one!

In honor & celebration of our fearless leader, please enjoy this video of reflection. Although we could never fully capture the TWENTY-FIVE YEARS of dedication that Dr. Hoke has given to healthcare, we made our best attempt to collect memorable photos & podcast excerpts which we hope represent him well.

The hours upon hours he has spent helping others & the impact he’s made is sincerely profound. It is an honor to be part of the army alongside him, fighting the good fight.

We are proud & grateful to work with a physician who followed the compass of morality, who chose to protect his patients & the heart of healthcare. Believing in Hoke Direct Primary Care was certainly a leap of faith - one in which you did not lose your footing but gained it.

🫁 Did you know that LUNG CANCER is the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide, yet it is often caught too late? Lung cancer accounts for roughly 1.8 million to 1.9 million deaths annually (about 1 in 5 of all cancer deaths).

🌎 Today is World Lung Cancer Day.

🔎 Early detection saves lives but awareness is still dangerously low. Many people don't know that a simple, painless, low-dose CT (cat scan) screening exists!

🩺 If you or a loved one have a history of smoking, a yearly screening can reduce the risk of dying from lung cancer by up to 20%. Ask your provider about a lung CT screening today!
