I am very thankful that the Lord brought me back to Honduras to serve alongside such a selfless, caring group of people. I saw the love of the Lord through this group and through each child in Honduras.
We visited different elementary schools and one high school throughout the week. One group did a great job of teaching that our strength comes from the Lord, the battle is the Lord’s, & you use what you have through acting out and explaining David vs. Goliath from the Bible. Another group explained salvation by making salvation bracelets with the kids, and at least two kids chose to accept Christ as Savior of their life. My group gave worming medication, hygiene kits, and medical care as needed. We had an amazing group of Hondurans who helped with translation and made it even more fun for the kids. We also served a group of pastors on Friday with food, medical care, and clothes/shoes. It was such a blessing to be a part of.
God’s faithfulness, protection, provision, and love were evident each day - our medications didn’t arrive as planned, but the Lord provided with what we had; we had a flat tire, but made it to our destination when we realized it, to a place easier to change it; we had the help and resources we needed each day; answered prayers; hugs, smiles, laughter; my luggage was stolen but our group took care of me in what I lost; and so much more.
Thank you, Lord, for bringing me back to Honduras, for new and old friends, for showing me more of Your love and how to live selflessly, for Your protection, provision, faithfulness, and love always. Guide me in Your ways each day & in continuing to care for Your most prized creation here in Mississippi & wherever You lead me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
