Hi! How are you?
I know that’s a loaded question…as one of the hardest things to walk in as a believer, I think, is contentment. We are bombarded daily with messages about how we should be more, have more, enjoy more, experience more, all of which build in us a lot of F.OM.O.
The only answer is to consider and own what we actually want, instead of fearing we'll lose what might be better.
The enemy comes to shout over hearts consistently: YOU are not enough!
Unfortunately, we think that accusation is directed our way- but it’s actually directed at our Rear Guard, the Lord.
As we come into agreement, though, we not only accept this lie about ourselves and our lives, but also slide into a sense of hopelessness that there is no resolution. Because the accusation is not about us; it is actually directed to the One who created us and is our God.
The One who stands with us 😞
So pause today - shake off the subtle accusations taking up space in your life and turn- look at your God and King full on-
Can you imagine standing before His throne, gazing upon the preeminent One, and shrugging your shoulders 😬, going, yeah, I guess neither of us is really enough.
Yeah, I can't imagine it either! So maybe we should stop living from that heart posture and instead discover what it means to find what we need in and through HIM- the King Himself!
As we gaze upon His goodness, we find in Him every need and desire met and abundantly satisfied. He knows us better than we know ourselves- we can trust His greatness 💜🔥💜
Colossians 1:15-20
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation: 16 for by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, 20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
Acts 17:27-28
27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
