☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
Skin Cancer Awareness Month is here. And Melanoma Monday felt like a good time for a little skin check-in & sharing my story.
In 2014, I went to the dermatologist with this strange, intense pain on my scalp and back. Nothing visible, just inexplicable pain that felt like it was in my skin. It ended up being stress-induced shingles that were already on their way out 🙃
But that visit led to something else.
The noticing of an irregular mole on my stomach… melanoma. A few more spots followed, and we got to work. I was 25.
So, not in a scary way, this is your reminder, from someone who almost missed it:
Get checked. Early and often. At least once a year.
Estheticians and beauty professionals are often the first line of defense. If yours tells you to get something looked at, please go.
And with that make sure to:
🧴 Wear SPF every day.
☀️ Shade when your skin has had enough.
✨ Sunless tans (spray or at-home) when you want that golden glow.
And a quick scan of your moles, freckles, and spots so you know what’s normal for you.
After the sun, keep it simple and supportive:Coconut Body Balm for dry skin,Nourishing Serum when your face needs a little love,Renew + Protect Moisturizer to keep things easy.
Protect your skin. Know your skin. Still enjoy your glow. ✨
