Hey friends!

Over the past several months, life has looked very different for me. I stepped away from the office to focus on my health, my treatment, and my family, and I’m incredibly grateful to share that I am now in remission from breast cancer!

Starting September 1st, I’ll be returning to see patients again.

Being a pediatrician has always meant so much more to me than simply coming to work each day. I’ve had the privilege of watching your children grow, celebrating milestones with your families, and being there through some of the harder moments too. I’ve missed those relationships more than I realized I would.

To every family who prayed for me, checked in, sent a message, offered encouragement, or simply gave me the time and space I needed to heal, thank you. Your kindness carried more weight than you probably know.

I’m returning with a very grateful heart, a little more perspective, and a lot of excitement to see those familiar faces again.

I can’t wait to hear what I’ve missed and see how much everyone has grown. ❤️

Final pathology results are back from surgery! I’m completely cancer free! Praise the Lord!

I hope to be back in clinic after I recover from surgery and I am cleared by my oncology team. I miss my clinic, my colleagues, and my patients! Thank you for all the prayers and support! God is good!

I am done with chemo!! So glad to be over this milestone. Still lots more on deck but I pray I never have to cold cap ever again, and never need chemo again in Jesus name! Thank you for all the prayers and support. I am humbled and grateful.

Dear Patients,

I want to share an important update regarding my availability in the coming months. Due to a personal health matter, I am currently undergoing treatment and will need to temporarily reduce my office hours. Additionally, I will be out of the office for a period of time to recover from a planned surgery later in the summer.
Please know that my priority remains your care and well-being. However, while going through treatment I will not be seeing sick visits out of abundance of caution to try and keep myself healthy. I will still be seeing patients for check ups and will be in office for questions. During this time, arrangements will be in place to ensure you continue to receive the support and attention you need. Our office team will be happy to assist you with scheduling, questions, or connecting you with appropriate care while I am away.
I truly appreciate your understanding, patience, and support as I focus on my health and recovery. I look forward to returning and resuming my regular schedule as soon as I am able.

There have been a few things brought to my attention recently that I want to address. Many families have asked about my views on vaccines, alternative schedules, and holistic medicine. There have been some voices speaking for me, so I will take the time to speak for myself. Preventative care is one of my favorite parts of pediatrics, and my goal is simple: I want to keep your children healthy, and staying up-to-date on vaccinations is one of the most reliable and safe ways we have to do that.

There’s been a lot of discussion in the media over the last several months about vaccines, autism, and Tylenol use. Based on the scientific evidence available right now, vaccines remain one of the safest and most effective tools we have for protecting children. I fully support continued research in these areas, and I stay current on new findings, but I will continue to recommend the standard vaccine schedule with confidence.

Both of my children are fully vaccinated, not only for their own protection but also to help safeguard those who are more vulnerable and cannot be vaccinated. I would never recommend anything for your child that I would not trust for my own.

During my training, any baby under 28 days who came in with a fever underwent a full evaluation, including a lumbar puncture, because of the risk of serious infections like meningitis. Thanks to routine vaccinations, cases of bacterial meningitis dropped dramatically. In nearly ten years of practice, I’ve never seen a single case of bacterial meningitis. I worry that may change if vaccination rates continue to decline.

It’s disheartening to hear the idea that pediatricians make recommendations for any reason other than the well-being of the children we care for. I love what I do, and I care deeply for my patients. If I’m doing my job well, and with the grace of God, I hope that always shows.
