If exercise has repeatedly caused pain, fatigue or crashes, it's understandable that your body may start anticipating another bad experience.
Fear of movement is a real area of chronic-pain research. That doesn't mean your symptoms are imaginary. It means rebuilding your relationship with movement may matter alongside respecting your real physical limits.

3 rounds. 12 reps. Do it all again.
That's normal fitness programming.
And my body eventually said: absolutely not. 😂
When I was trying to figure out how to exercise with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, I started questioning things I'd once accepted as “just how workouts work.”
One of them was repetition.
So many Coco Lime workouts use non-repeating movements instead.
You still challenge your muscles. You still build strength. But you're not hammering the same muscles and joints again and again just because that's how a traditional workout is structured.
It's one of the small differences that can make Coco Lime feel VERY different from a typical “beginner workout.”

What if the problem was never that you were “bad at exercise”?
Some bodies simply don't respond to exercise the way conventional fitness assumes they will.
If exercise leaves you disproportionately exhausted, dizzy, in pain, or needing far longer to recover than everyone around you seems to need, there is actually a term worth knowing: exercise intolerance.
And it can happen with a number of different health conditions.
That doesn't automatically mean you shouldn't move.
It may mean your movement needs a completely different starting point—less intensity, shorter sessions, more recovery, and the freedom to adjust based on what your body can handle TODAY.
That's a big part of why I created Coco Lime Fitness.
Fitness should adapt to your body. Not the other way around.

This is why I never tell someone with fibromyalgia to “just push through.”
Before finding Coco Lime, one of my clients told me workouts could leave her in bed for 1–2 days afterward.
So imagine what exercise starts to represent.
Not strength. Not confidence. Not feeling good.
A threat.
She started working out with me in July.
Only about two months, she told me she was feeling so much better and had gotten into the habit of moving most mornings.
Her experience isn't a guarantee of what another person's body will do.
But it perfectly illustrates what I've believed for years:
Sometimes the answer isn't giving up on fitness.
It's finding a form of fitness your body can actually tolerate consistently.
If you've stopped exercising because you're afraid of how you'll feel afterward, I understand why.

To avoid burnout and extra fatigue after your strength training workout be sure to keep your sessions very short. 10-15 minutes of concentrated effort done the right way can be incredibly effective at creating changes in the body. No need to do more, just try to be consistent with that and see how your body responds. Follow me, Suzanne at Cocolime Fitness to get more tips like this.
