He died in his sleep from cardiac arrest at the age of 53, on December 25, 2016. Hundreds of thousands of people are still alive thanks to him.

Only after the singer's death did it become known that he had spent millions to help orphans, the homeless, the sick and foreigners in need. The contestant of the TV show "The Deal" said during the break that she needs 15,000 pounds for an invitro procedure. The next day, Michael called and secretly transferred the entire amount to her name.
Richard Osman, TV presenter: "George Michael worked anonymously at a homeless shelter where I volunteered. I didn't tell anyone this because he asked us not to tell anyone. That's who he used to be." Emmeline Mondeau, actress: "A woman at a children's charity told me the only reason they're still around is because of George Michael." Kate Vogue: "Every Easter when Chris Tarrant and I hosted the 'Capital FM' children's charity event, George Michael would turn up at 3.30am and donate £100,000." DJ Mike Brown: "He gave £25,000 to an unknown woman in a cafe because cried because of the debt. He wrote a check and asked the waitress to give it to the woman after she left."
’Vector Victoria: "He organized a free concert for the nurses who took care of his late mother."

Andrew: "His donations have helped create a world where people with HIV can live healthy lives free of prejudice and discrimination."

“The man in the chair is Mr. Earl….Mr. Earl lives in the assisted living home next door to the shop, he has a memory disease that if you tell him something today he forgets so if you tell him again tomorrow it’s like new information to him….his brother used to come to the shop and pay me every week to cut his hair. Then later Mr. Earl would come and ask me did his brother pay me so he can get a cut, I would always say yes sir your debt is already paid….Mr. Earl’s brother died 5 years ago and he doesn’t remember, he still comes every week and always asks me is his debt paid….I ALWAYS STILL SAY YES SIR, YOUR DEBT IS PAID and cut his hair….i know Mr. Earl’s brother is in heaven looking down watching out for us THATS PAYMENT ENOUGH…some things are better than money….AMEN”

A Jewish family Karnofsky, who immigrated from Lithuania to the United States, took pity on the 7-year-old boy and brought him to their home.

There he stayed and spent the night in this Jewish family home, where for the first time in his life he was treated with kindness and tenderness.
When he went to bed, Mrs Karnovski sang him Russian lullabies, which he sang with her.
Later he learned to sing and play several Russian and Jewish songs.

Over time, this boy became the adopted son of this family.

Mr. Karnofsky gave him money to buy his first musical instrument, as was the custom in Jewish families.

Later, when he became a professional musician and composer, he used these Jewish melodies in compositions such as St. James's Hospital and Go Down Moses.

The little boy grew up and wrote a book about this Jewish family, who adopted him in 1907. And proudly spoke Yiddish fluently.

In memory of this family and until the end of his life, he wore the Star of David and said that in this family he learned "to live a real life and determination."

This little boy's name was Louis Armstrong.This little boy was called Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong. Louis Armstrong proudly spoke fluent Yiddish and “Satchmo” is Yiddish for “big cheeks, a nickname some say was given to him by Mrs. Karnofsky!

Back to work today, forgot my pass so locked bike outside Cannon Street station. Left work at 6pm to find just the cut lock and no bike, resigned to never seeing my trusty stead again asked the station if they have cameras. A guy appeared waving at me, asked me to put the code into my cut lock. He replied ‘I have your bike’ with a smile I will never forget!! His name is Abdul Muneeb and he works for South Eastern Railways, he was on a break and saw a guy bolt cut the lock and challenged him to give it back, he then took it inside and waited 4 hours after his shift finished to personally make sure I got my bike back. The world needs more Abdul’s, he is a legend of a man and a credit to his employer.
