NEUROPATHY

According to Dr. Ben Bikman:
Neuropathy can be caused by high blood sugar.
But lowering blood sugar with diet doesn't necessarily stop it because
1. High blood sugar does damage nerves.
2. Insulin resistance - nerves need insulin to repair and will fail without it working well..
3. Blood sugar swings - constant spikes and crashes of blood glucose. I strive to eat all of my carbs in one sitting each day to avoid this.
I have seen many people reverse neuropathy from diet, exercise (vibration platform works wonders), and with good chiropractic care.
According to Dr. Ken Berry - anything you rub on skin or supplements you take will not reverse neuropathy, he calls all of it a waste of money as far as peripheral neuropathy goes. Any pharma drugs prescribed may help symptoms but have a long list of probable side effects and don't reverse or slow down neuropathy at all. He does recommend B complex, magnesium, potassium, D3, omega 3s to help correct any deficiency that could be contributing to neuropathy. His top recommendations for neuropathy (for 80-90% of people neuropathy is caused by blood sugar, confused immune system, chronic inappropriate inflammation) are diet (get rid of the sugars and grains like wheat, oats, etc.) and fasting (14-20 hours per day). But this can take weeks to months to heal some nerves, REAL healing takes time, especially with things like nerves.
According to Dr. John Bergman: Neuropathy can certainly be caused by diabetes but also from a number of pharma drugs including statins. Dr. Bergman also adds that If there is stenosis then to correct the cause by disc regeneration or restoring normal biomechanics (see a good corrective chiropractor).
