Home Sweet Home! 🏡❤️

We are happy to share that our residents of Legacy of Palmetto have safely returned home following their temporary evacuation due to flood concerns.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible team members whose planning, coordination, and transportation efforts ensured a smooth transition every step of the way. We are especially grateful to the dedicated staff who sacrificed time away from their own families to remain by their residents’ side throughout the evacuation. Your compassion and commitment truly embody what it means to serve.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the many vendors and partners who stepped in to help make this process seamless.

Most importantly, we are thankful to report that all residents have returned safely and are now settled comfortably back in their home at Legacy of Palmetto. 💚

Thank you Acadian Ambulance for safely transporting our residents to our emergency host sites.💙🚑

Due to rising water levels and mandatory evacuation orders in St. Landry Parish, Acadian Ambulance supported Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation of Palmetto as they implemented their emergency preparedness plan on the morning of Friday, June 19.

Utilizing our multi-patient ambulance bus, our team evacuated 10 of Legacy's residents to their designated host facility. We are grateful for the team at Legacy for helping to coordinate a smooth evacuation process for all residents.

🚨 Important Resident Safety Update – Legacy of Palmetto (Tri-Community) 🚨

Due to rising water levels and mandatory evacuation orders in our area, Legacy of Palmetto (formerly Tri-Community Nursing & Rehabilitation) is implementing our emergency preparedness plan and safely evacuating all residents to our designated host facility, Legacy of Plaquemine.

Residents will be transported with the utmost care, and members of the Legacy Management team are on-site and prepared to welcome them, ensure a smooth transition, and help them settle in comfortably.

The safety and well-being of our residents and staff remain our highest priority. We appreciate the understanding and support of our families and community as we take these necessary precautions.

We will continue to provide updates as needed. Please keep our residents, staff, and surrounding communities in your thoughts during this time.

This week, we proudly celebrated the heart of healthcare — our nurses. 💚

In skilled nursing and long-term care, nursing is so much more than medicine. It is compassion during difficult moments, patience through every challenge, and the ability to make residents feel safe, valued, and loved each and every day.

Our nurses are caregivers, advocates, listeners, encouragers, and often like family to the residents they serve.
