Well, this was a nice surprise!! 😊

The team at Biggby Coffee stopped by the office with treats for us, and they definitely didn't last very long around here 😂

One of my favorite things about being in practice is getting to know so many wonderful people over the years. Little surprises like this are always such a nice reminder of that.

So thank you to the Biggby team for thinking of us!!

Fun fact: Most people don't realize that coffee is actually one of the biggest sources of antioxidants in the average diet. Not a bad bonus for something that tastes this good…☕️

Now, excuse me while I try to convince myself I don't need another coffee this afternoon!

One question I get asked pretty often is what I do to stay active, and truthfully, if I'm not in the office, there's a pretty good chance you'll find me either out for a walk or at Genesis Barbell! 😊

I think one of the biggest misconceptions about staying active is that it has to be complicated. It really doesn't, though!

The goal isn't to become a professional athlete. It's to keep doing the things you enjoy and make the everyday things a little easier for as long as possible.

Walking, strength training, biking, gardening, golfing, swimming, carrying groceries, lifting luggage, playing with your kids or grandkids, getting out on the pickleball court, working around the house, or simply getting outside and enjoying some fresh air... it all counts!

I've also got to give a shoutout to Erica Corona and the team at Genesis Barbell! I've met some great people there, and it's become one of my favorite places to stay active and challenge myself!

What's a place you love to go that helps keep you moving and feeling good? Give them a shoutout in the comments! 👇

I knew golf season was officially back when people started coming into the office saying, “Okay… I may have overdone it at the driving range yesterday.” 😅⛳️

And honestly, most of the time, it’s not while they’re golfing that they notice it.

It’s later that night…
or the next morning…
when getting out of bed suddenly feels VERY different 😂

Usually, it’s the lower back, hips, or shoulders that start getting cranky first.

I’ve already had a handful of conversations about this over the last week or two, so apparently, everybody was VERY excited for the nice weather to come back.

Thankfully, this is usually pretty manageable once we figure out what’s flaring things up. Sometimes it’s an adjustment, sometimes massage, acupuncture, or a little stretch work, depending on what’s going on.

That said… maybe ease back into the driving range a little this month 😉⛳️

Spring has definitely sprung at the office!!

All of a sudden, it’s walks, yard work, being outside more…and your body starts giving you little reminders.

Not usually anything big or alarming… just enough to make you pause for a second.

It’s something I’ve been hearing a lot lately.

When that happens, we just take a look at what’s going on and go from there—sometimes it’s an adjustment, sometimes we mix in other things depending on what your body needs.

Every visit looks a little different, but the goal is always the same… help you feel better so you can enjoy being active again!!

That look when someone says they’re gonna “give it a few more days”… ☕️

I get it!! 😄

It’s never enough to stop what you’re doing...
Just enough to notice it, adjust a little, and keep going.

…then a few days turn into a week before you know it.

That’s when it’s worth checking in sooner rather than later!! Before it sticks around longer than it needs to… even if it’s just a small “disturbance in the force” 😉

May the 4th be with you… and your spine!! 😊

We hear this all the time.

A lot of people feel like they have to wait until it really hurts before coming in. And honestly, we get why!!

But it doesn’t always start that way.

Sometimes it’s not something big right away.

Things like:
• That headache that keeps creeping back by the end of the day
• Feeling stiff when you get up, even after sitting for a while
• Your shoulders tightening up without you even realizing it
• Or noticing certain movements just don’t feel as easy as they used to

It’s usually the kind of thing people say,
“I’ll give it a few days and see if it goes away.”

That’s what we’re here for!! Helping you feel better so you can get back to your routine, your family, your workouts—whatever fills your day ☺️

I really do love it when patients bring their service dogs in with them!!

I’ll be adjusting someone while their dog is right there on the floor…just hanging out and keeping them company.

It actually happens more than you’d think!!

A lot of people feel more comfortable having them there, and you can see it right away—they relax a little more, and the whole visit just feels easier.

That’s always the goal when you’re here!!

And don’t worry… I don’t adjust the dogs 😊

Happy Dog Appreciation Month!!

Sometimes during a visit, someone will pause and say, “I didn’t realize chiropractic could help with that!”

We hear that all the time, and honestly, we get why!!

Most people think of back or neck discomfort, but it can show up in other ways too, like headaches, sinus pressure, trouble sleeping, or that built-up tension from day-to-day life.

The conversation often expands into things like digestion, posture habits, or changes during pregnancy or growth.

A lot of it comes back to how your body is moving and how everything is working together.

That’s what we focus on, helping your body move, feel, and function better.

Every visit is a little different, and we take the time to understand what’s going on and what makes sense for you!!

After more than 25 years in practice, Dr. Fefles has heard just about every question there is.

Some of them come up again and again during appointments.

Things like whether ice or heat is better, why joints seem to act up when the weather changes, or even which pillow people should be using at night.

And every once in a while, someone throws in a question that has nothing to do with chiropractic at all!

We pulled together five of the ones she hears most often in the office.

Take a look through the slides and see if any of them sound familiar!

Is there one you’ve wondered about before?

If you’ve been in the office before, you’ve met Dr. Fefles!

She opened Fefles Family Chiropractic in 2003 and has approached care the same way ever since: by listening first.

There’s always time to talk things through and decide what makes sense for you. Most conversations center on what you’re feeling and why. And every now and then, something lighter comes up too, whether it’s the plants in the office, a recent trip to Greece, or even a quick Star Wars reference.

Over the years, she has added services like acupuncture, massage, movement work, and functional therapy alongside adjustments. What she recommends always depends on who is sitting in front of her and what they need.

When asked how she thinks about her role, she says:

“I don’t want anyone to feel rushed. I want to understand what’s actually happening, and then we figure it out together.”

We’re glad she’s here, and we’re glad you are too. 💛
