Hi, my name is Katie, and I’m the owner and a speech-language pathologist at Carney Speech and Feeding. I love helping kids reach their full potential. Watching them learn to communicate — whether that’s talking, interacting with others, or simply gaining confidence in their world — is so rewarding.
Another part of this work I love is helping kiddos build a positive relationship with food and improve their feeding skills so mealtimes can feel easier and more enjoyable. Seeing the impact speech and feeding development has on both the child and their family is what makes this job so special to me. 💙

Hi, my name is Caitlin and I am a speech-language pathologist at Carney Speech and Feeding!! I specialize in early intervention, speech and language therapy, and infant and pediatric feeding therapy. One of the most meaningful parts of my work is helping children find their voice, whether that means saying their first words, communicating more clearly, or building a positive relationship with feeding and mealtimes. I believe every child has incredible potential and can thrive with the right support, connection, and intervention. I also deeply value the relationships I build with families and enjoy helping them feel confident and empowered while supporting their child’s growth. Being part of each child’s journey and celebrating their progress is something I feel incredibly grateful for every day!

Hi, my name is Gwen, and I’m a speech-language pathologist at Carney Speech and Feeding. One of my favorite parts of being an SLP is seeing a child’s face light up when they finally “get it” — whether it’s producing a sound they’ve been working so hard on, using words to request a favorite toy, or reading a book more confidently and fluently. Watching their confidence grow and celebrating those special moments alongside them is such a rewarding part of what I do!

Hi, my name is Kiera! My favorite part about being a speech-language pathologist is helping my clients improve their ability to communicate their wants and needs. I love getting to know my clients and watching them grow more confident every day! I also enjoy working closely with families to empower them and best support their child’s needs. Being an SLP allows me to express my creativity by planning therapy activities that incorporate each child’s interests. I am so thankful for this career — it is truly fun and rewarding!

Behavior is often communication.
When language demands exceed a child’s skills, we may see frustration before we hear words.
Early identification of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) works best when professionals collaborate, families are empowered, and screening is embedded into everyday routines—not just formal testing.
Supporting language early isn’t about labeling—it’s about creating access, understanding, and long-term outcomes.
