Summer
It’s summer. The kids are out of school, the days are long, and the temperatures are warm. During this time of year many of us are more active, especially outdoors. Below are some simple and easy things you can do to stay safe while enjoying the beautiful summer weather.
-Make yourself unattractive to bugs. Use bug spray and avoid areas of standing water.
-Wear sunscreen and use sun glasses.
-If going hiking or camping make sure you have first aid supplies.
-Practice water safety: never swim alone, use a life vest if not a strong swimmer, wear a brightly colored bathing suit, and swim in areas with lifeguards when possible.
-Stay hydrated to prevent heat stress and heat stroke.
-Know your bad plants, like poison ivy.
-Wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle, bike, or scooter.
