Pana Community Hospital Foundation Executive Director, Melissa Rybolt presented the 2026 Foundation scholarship award to Jaclyn Swenny of Pana. The $3,000 scholarship award was presented at the Pana High School awards ceremony on Monday, May 11th. Jaclyn performed at the top of her class in academics and participated in several sports. She plans to attend Clarke University in Dubuque Iowa where she has been accepted into the Pre-Physical Therapy program. She hopes to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy and come back to Pana Community Hospital to work.
The Pana Community Hospital Foundation established a scholarship fund to be awarded to a graduating high school senior seeking a career in a medical related field. Seniors must attend a school within the hospital service area including Pana, Nokomis, A & M, Ramsey, or Cowden-Herrick schools. Fourteen students from the area applied for this year’s scholarship. “The scholarship committee had a difficult choice in choosing a winner as all the applicants were very well qualified,” commented Rybolt. “The Foundation would like to thank all the students who applied.”
Pana Community Hospital is the largest employer in the area with over 320 employees providing many career opportunities. Pana Community Hospital is fortunate to contribute greatly to the local economy by providing a wide range of jobs. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage talented students to consider returning to their local hospital and hometowns to work and succeed in a fulfilling career.
