Very Hot Week Ahead 🥵

An Extreme Heat Watch has been issued for the daylight hours on Tuesday (7/28) due to forecast feels-like temperatures up to 113 degrees.

A heat advisory was issued for tomorrow (Mon, 7/27) for heat index values up to 110 degrees.

Needless to say, it will be hot. Actual temperatures away from the beaches will be around the century mark (100 degrees) Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Tuesday will likely be the warmest afternoon, with forecast high temperatures between 98-102 along highway 20 and I-10.

At the beaches, high temperatures climb to between 92-95 degrees on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

The Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) reaches the 90-92 range the next several afternoons, which is dangerous heat. For school sports practices, the FHSAA guidelines are: Maximum 1 hour of activity. Five separate 4-minute rest breaks. No protective equipment permitted. No conditioning activities permitted. A good rule of thumb for all of us, if possible.
