Do you know about the blue pumpkin? A blue pumpkin indicates a trick-or-treater on the autism spectrum. This Halloween please remember that not every child has the fine motor skills to pick up one piece of candy, and some may not say "trick-or-treat." Not every child on the spectrum will be carrying a blue pumpkin, so please keep this post in mind before judging someone's child by their behavior tonight. We hope you have a fun night full of SWEET memories!

THANK YOU for your unwavering support of our attendance messaging and for making school attendance a priority every day your children are healthy and well enough to attend. We see you, hear you, and genuinely appreciate all you do to ensure your children are present and ready to learn.

We also understand that families are working hard to plan appointments and vacations around the school schedule. To help make this easier, we've developed a handy "Vacation Planner" that outlines all the school holidays and three-day weekends due to federal and state holidays. This planner makes it a breeze to plan those much-needed breaks!

The entire school calendar is always available on our website at https://bay.k12.fl.us/academic-calendar, but we hope this convenient planner finds its way to homes across the county and serves as a helpful guide for the year ahead. As always, if you have attendance-related questions that pertain to your child, please get in touch with his/her school, as we cannot answer those sorts of questions on social media.
