Since the August 2020 merger of Learning Services and ReMed our teams have worked hard to bring our organizations together, implementing best practices and making our organization stronger and smarter. For 35 years, our programs have been the recognized expert for treating highly complex, post-acute neurorehabilitation and neurobehavioral cases. These years of experience have taught us that collaboration, communication and partnering are pivotal to success.

Exciting news from our Collage Home & Community Rehabilitation Partners family!

Former client, Luke Balloun and his wife, Jen, partnered with Trent Peterson and his wife, Amber. Together they run The Broken Road Project a nonprofit that helps stroke and brain injury survivors and their caregivers by offering peer support, shared experiences, and community connection.

They are hosting their 1st event in Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas to raise awareness and support for the Stroke and Brain Injury Community. The event is fast approaching, and we need your help to make it a huge success! Whether you know someone who would love to enter a team in the pickleball tournament or simply want to spread the word, every share helps. Most of all, they need community support on the day of the event to cheer on the teams and participate in their raffle and silent auction. Fantastic prizes are up for grabs, including Fort Worth Zoo tickets, annual passes for up to five people to the Perot Museum with discounted parking, and so much more! September is National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month—highlighting resilience, progress, and the vital need for continued innovation. 🧬✨

Here is a quick look at the impact in the U.S. today:
🔹311,560+ individuals living with an SCI
🔹18,482 new traumatic injuries every year
🔹Leading causes: Motor vehicle crashes, falls, violence, and sports

While these numbers represent life-changing moments, they also represent a call to action. From advances in neuro-rehabilitation and epidural stimulation to exoskeleton technology and adaptive sports, progress is happening every day.

True progress requires:
🔹 Continued investment in spinal cord research
🔹 Advocacy for accessible public infrastructure
🔹 Support systems for individuals, families, and caregivers

Cierra, a Collage Home & Community Rehabilitation Partners patient in Austin learned archery with the amazing support of her Recreational Therapist, Stephanie Ruiz, and Lone Star Paralysis! 🎯 Cierra has been discharged from our services, but she had the opportunity to trial various leisure activities and identified modifications that best suited her needs. Cierra also founded "Rolling with the Homies," a community group for those with spinal cord injuries in Austin, Texas! Together, we’re forging connections and building a supportive network.
