Snow fall effect
In the practice of using psychedelics as a healing tool the question often arises: “what are they good for?”
Here the analogy of the snowfall effect is useful:
Imagine sledding down a snow covered mountain.
As you sled down the mountain you create “trails”.
As you repeatably sled down you are likely to fall into previous trails.
Overtime these trails get deeper and deeper and become more substantial.
Now, think of these trails as like neural pathways in the brain.
Where the thoughts, feelings, emotions, and patterns of behavior are the “trails” you travel everyday.
Overtime traveling down the same “trails” creates engrained neural pathways in the brain.
What psychedelics do is give the user a new snowfall, that is a dump of “fresh powder”.
Filling in old pathways and allowing for the creation of new trails.
New pathways in the mind if you will.
Science speak:
* Psychedelics: Increases neural plasticity (neuron growth rate).
* Psychedelics: Takes one out of the default mode network (the repetitive thoughts feelings emotions etc.).
* Psychedelics: Create global entropy (allows aspects of the brain that don't normally speak to one another to communicate in new and interesting ways)
Simply put, psychedelics take you out of your daily routine, increase new ways of being, and allow you to experience the world in new and interesting ways.
This process can be “volcanic”.
That is it disrupts old patterns, clears the way for new states of being in the body, and lays fertile ground for new growth.
This is why I recommend you hire an experienced coach to help on your journey.
So that they may provide you the right container, set, & setting; as part of a well designed psychedelics program to help you to make personal growth or heal from past traumas at increased rates of speed.
If you’d like to find out more about dosing protocols, intention setting, and proper use of psychedelics either in a self guided micro-dosing practice or a one-on-one coaching program, which includes macrodosing protocols, shoot me a DM.
Hope you have a beautiful journey.
