Yesterday, April 29th was Fentanyl Awareness and our Henry/Benton County program manager Doris Estes had the opportunity to attend the Fentanyl Awareness Town Hall Meeting at the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce. During the Townhall meeting, a fabulous group of professional individuals throughout Paris and Henry County were able to obtain the knowledge from Jamie Myrick (24th District Drug Taskforce) of how dangerous fentanyl is and how it is hidden in plain sight. Melesa Lassiter (Regional Overdose Prevention Specialist) did a Narcan presentation on the benefits of the drug, on what symptoms to look for with fentanyl overdose, and how to administer the medicine quickly and effectively. It’s amazing how many lives have been saved since this product has been introduced.
This meeting was very informative and we want to give a huge shout out to the Henry County Prevention Coalition for spreading awareness to our community.
Thank you to Caleb Grissom (Executive Director) of the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce for providing a meeting location.
We also have to mention the wonderful lunch provided by Perry’s BBQ and Catering in Paris.
