Park City Horse Experience

Park City Horse Experience We partner with horses in the exploration of self- awareness, connection to nature, and to gain new War Veterans.

Park City Horse Experience was born from the need to share the power of working with horses with the Park City community. My connection to horses proved to be a life line for me, especially when I moved to Park City. I didn't speak the language; didn't have any friends in this country and fell in a deep hole of loneliness, longing for connection. In 1999 I started volunteering with the National Ab

ility Center at the equestrian center which saved my soul. I could speak horse and felt like a contributing human again by volunteering in their programs. Little by little my English improved and I was able to develop relationships in the community, which have lasted for over 20 years. Nine years ago I founded the Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program which has been my way to give back to the community. My passion is to partner with horses and provide a safe place for people to learn about themselves. I have seen people coming back from the gates of suicide or years of isolation just to be with 'their' horse once a week. I have seen kids in the autism spectrum learning to form friendships and connection by learning to connect with horses. Working with the US military has also been an opportunity to serve not just this community but also my own son. I am a US Navy mom and know how some of our loved ones come back changed from the war. For the last 9 years, I haveI continued to facilitate the Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program at the National Ability Center on weekly basis. My hope is to continue to grow the program and the team, so we can serve more individuals, families and groups. I want to thank to the Park City community by offering a second setting where I can continue to explore methods and philosophies in partnering with horses by offering different ways to explore self-awareness and growth.

Nice article of what we have been doing at REINS. Check it out!

Founded in 2019 by Kris Getzie, REINS hosts and facilitates equine-based therapy opportunities. It’s not just to benefit people, but horses who’ve experienced trauma and rejection as well.
