Imagine this:

You did your research, and you decided to take up weightlifting, or join a run club, or jump into a CrossFit class, or sign up for that Hyrox. You invested in your health and future. You started to notice a nagging pain after, so you look into it.

You get an x-ray, and you hear:
“You’re bone on bone, stop doing that”
“This is the worst knee I’ve ever seen”
“Running is horrible for your joints”

And suddenly the story shifts from confidence to fear. What now?

Don’t let words that create fear stop you. Your body is far more resilient and adaptable than you’ve been led to believe.

You need support. Let us step in. Our job is to help you better understand your body, rebuild confidence, and create a plan that keeps you doing what you love for the long run.

(Of course, sometimes conservative care does not fully address symptoms, especially in advanced osteoarthritis with significant change in joint structure. We support and advocate for a whole-team approach in these cases where surgery can be necessary.)

Congratulations to our Onward athlete - Eric for completing his first marathon in 4:07!

Having not completed a marathon before, Eric was looking for support as pain started to creep in along with his mileage. With monthly check ins for soft tissue recovery work and dialing in supportive training, Eric crushed his first crack at 26.2!

“Thank you for all of your help over the last several months! Before my first appointment, I was worried that I was not going to be able to run due to the pain I was feeling. Your treatment and advice allowed me to keep on-track in my training and actually finish a marathon! I am excited to continue running and training to become a better runner!”

Looking forward to taking care you more in the future Eric!

The only training you benefit from is the training you recover from.

If the same weights, pace, or workouts suddenly feel harder than usual, take it as an early sign that recovery isn’t keeping up with training.

Consider these your warning signs. Before it progresses to an injury or RED-S (relative energy deficiency in sport), take a serious look at your sleep, nutrition, stress management, and training load. Is training balanced? Is your calorie intake supporting it?

Not sure what’s going on? Check in with a provider who can identify what your body needs. Annual bloodwork, nutrition consults, and tune-ups with a PT can help.

What are your favorite recovery strategies?

Low back pain with deadlifting or bending over? Instead of skipping the gym (again!), come in and use this rEMOM as a warmup, then ask your coach how to appropriately modify your workout.

A rEMOM is a rehab EMOM. Start a clock, and at the top of each minute, start the next exercise. 45 seconds of work, 15 seconds of transition time. Complete 3 rounds.
Minute 1: moderate-high intensity low-impact cardio to get the blood pumping
Minute 2: 15-20 prone press-ups through a pain-free range of motion to reintroduce extension and address stiffness
Minute 3: Sorenson hold - isometrics can be great for pain relief and to warm up your target muscles

Follow up with mobility work to get primed for the workout, then hit it!

The are upon us.

And we are proud to partner as an official provider.

We know CrossFit.
We understand the demands.
The volume.
The intensity.
The standard.

But more importantly, we know recovery and performance.

Because training hard is only half the equation. Staying durable is what separates competitors from spectators.

To every athlete stepping onto the floor: Prepare well. Recover intentionally. Perform at your highest level.

Let the Games begin
