This week, we're proud to shine our Caregiver Spotlight on Penny Drake! ❤️

Penny has been with Village Caregiving for a year and a half and has been a consistent, dependable caregiver from day one. She rarely calls off and is always committed to providing exceptional care to her clients.

We asked Penny a few questions so we could get to know her a little better. Here's what she had to say!

What aspects of being a caregiver do you find most rewarding?
~ Knowing that I am making a difference in my client's life. Helping him as much as I can is so rewarding!

What motivates you to go above and beyond in your caregiving duties?
~ My client! I have the most respect for him and only want the best for him!

What are some of your hobbies or interests?
~ I love flea markets, thrift stores, yard sales, or any bargain I can find. I enjoy crafting and repurposing items into something beautiful!

What would you identify as your primary strength?
~ Being able to avoid conflict. I have learned with my client how to change the subject and redirect to another topic that does not upset him.

If you could give any advice on how to be a successful caregiver, what would it be?
~ Listen to your clients! By listening, you can figure out their interests and do the things that your clients really enjoy doing!
