Ritchie Regional Health Center Parkersburg South Campus is the 70th
School-based Health Center to open in the state of West Virginia. This center
is located behind South Parkersburg High School campus directly beside the
Vo-Ag Building. The center is equipped with a patient waiting room,
receptionist office, lab, four exam rooms, a nurse station and offices for two
providers. The health center is open to serve the students and the general public. Services
offered include; acute (sore throat, earache, acne, etc.) and chronic care (Asthma,
Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, etc.), immunizations, allergy injections,
Commerical Driver's License (CDL) physicals, sport and camp physicals,
prescriptions, and off site referrals. RRHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center
(FQHC). The main purpose of the FQHC Program is to enhance the provision of
primary care services in underserved urban and rural communities. (FQHCs) that
receive federal funding must provide access to services without regard for a
person's ability to pay. They must also meet certain requirements regarding
schedules of fees and discounts (often called a sliding fee scale) for the services
they provide to ensure that the cost of services not covered by insurance are
discounted on the basis of the patient's ability to pay. This scale offers patients
a reduction in the price of their office visit determined by their annual income
and number of household members supported by the income.

“Catch-up to Get Ahead” Campaign to Promote Childhood Immunizations

In support of National Immunization Awareness Month, HRSA urges health centers and health care providers to “catch-up to get ahead” on childhood immunizations. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to alarming declines in well-child visits and routine immunization rates. This raises the risk for outbreaks and further strain on our nation’s health care system.
To increase childhood immunization rates, HHS is coordinating the “Catch-up to Get Ahead” effort.
Promote the importance of childhood immunizations by using social media messages and graphics from the Catch-up to Get Ahead Toolkit.
