Redesigned Chevy Silverado gets new V-8 engines, bolder look, high-tech interior.
Chevrolet is giving the Silverado 1500 light-duty pickup, General Motors’ top seller in the U.S. and a key revenue and profit driver, bolder exterior styling, a higher-tech interior and new V-8 engines as part of a sweeping makeover.
The Silverado will play a crucial role in generating profits during a pivotal time for the company, which is navigating the complexities of tariff expenses, costly investment in electric vehicles and battery technology and a challenging U.S. auto market.
Chevy will sell the revamped full-size Silverado with four powertrain options: new 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V-8s, an enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax engine and Duramax 3.0-liter turbodiesel. All are paired with a 10-speed transmission.
It will come in seven trim levels, including an entry-level model simply called Silverado, the off-road-centric ZR2 and the top-end High Country.
The 2027 Silverado 1500 will go on sale at the end of the year, Chevrolet said, with pricing, availability and other features to be announced later. Read More:
