Veterinarians show extraordinary compassion and expertise in caring for animals, often under demanding circumstances. Zoetis, together with the Zoetis Foundation, strengthens this profession through support for mental health resources, debt relief, scholarships, continuing education, and programs that foster connection and belonging.

These efforts help ensure veterinarians feel supported in both the challenges and rewards of their work, allowing their dedication to continue shaping healthier lives for animals and the people who depend on them.

April was an eventful month across Zoetis, as teams around the world made time to connect, celebrate progress, and share expertise that supports the people and communities we serve.

From Brazil, where colleagues welcomed customers from across Latin America for the BioDevices event and hosted executives for a market visit, to Belgium, where our manufacturing site marked 500 days without a lost-time accident, safety and collaboration were front and center.

In France, members of our leadership team spent time with colleagues to learn more about the work underway across the market. And in Spain, sharing knowledge took shape through the first Poultry Meeting, bringing together 60 professionals to discuss key health challenges, as well as the launch of One Health Ambassadors with CEU Cardenal Herrera University, reaching 500+ students with lessons on how human, animal, and environmental health are connected.

➡️ Swipe through for a look at what teams around the world were up to.

What are the differences between mAbs and small molecule therapies?

While both mAbs and small molecule therapies have their use cases in veterinary medicine, there are some key differences between the two. Having both options will allow the animal health industry to bring treatments that better fit the needs of customers and medical needs of pets.

Caring for animals takes knowledge, commitment, and support—and the people who do this work strengthen communities every day.

As we mark five years of the Zoetis Foundation, we’re reflecting on what’s been possible through partnership with grantees around the world. From advancing opportunities for veterinary professionals and livestock farmers to supporting the next generation through student scholarships, the Foundation is focused on caring for those who care for animals.

We’re proud of the progress so far—and even more motivated by what comes next.

Here’s a look at some of our most popular colleagues! On any given day at HQ, you’ll see a few familiar faces making the rounds—stopping by desks for a quick hello, joining a hallway walk, or settling in nearby to keep everyone company. It’s a simple part of the culture at Zoetis, bringing a sense of warmth and energy to the workplace.

Because mAbs are proteins that can be recognized by the immune system as foreign, it is essential to design them to be compatible with the species in which they will be used.

In veterinary medicine, mAbs are engineered to be species-specific with the goal of reducing immune reactions.

At Zoetis, our commitment to animal health is closely connected to the health of the environments and communities we share. On this Earth Day, we’re recognizing a few examples of colleagues around the world who are taking action to help protect and restore local ecosystems.

In New Jersey, colleagues came together for a coastal cleanup—collecting litter and helping restore a shoreline that both people and wildlife depend on. In Mumbai, India, colleagues spent time in a nature reserve clearing waste from forest trails and supporting conservation efforts by building natural structures to help manage water flow, recharge groundwater, and sustain surrounding vegetation.

These hands-on efforts, while local in impact, contribute to a broader commitment to a healthier, more sustainable future for animals, people, and the planet.

We’re excited to share that Vetscan OptiCell™ will be the first and only point‑of‑care hematology analyzer to offer Cellular Hemoglobin Concentration Mean (CHCM). Previously available only in reference labs, this direct measurement of the average hemoglobin concentration within individual red blood cells delivers greater accuracy than traditional calculated values—especially in complex cases.

Building on OptiCell’s AI-powered, cartridge-based platform that already provides complete blood count (CBC) results in-clinic, we’re expanding capabilities in 2026 with two new parameters, bringing the total to 24. Alongside CHCM, Plateletcrit (PCT) adds insight into platelet volume and health, helping clinicians more effectively detect changes in production or destruction.

Together, these enhancements strengthen OptiCell’s ability to deliver fast, actionable results at the point of care—supporting veterinary teams in making informed decisions and improving patient outcomes.
