Your bladder urgency isn’t just a bladder issue. 😵‍💫

It’s usually a combination of things — your bladder, your pelvic floor, your nervous system, and yes, even your hips.

I tell my patients this constantly: urgency shows up when there’s a breakdown somewhere in that whole system. Sometimes it’s a bladder issue itself. Sometimes it’s pelvic floor tightness. Sometimes it’s nervous system signaling. Sometimes it’s hip strength and mobility. Usually it’s more than one.

That’s why bladder suppressant medication alone doesn’t always resolve it — and neither does kegels alone. You’re treating one piece of a bigger picture.

This is exactly why pelvic floor PT should be your first stop, not your last resort after being bounced between providers. We look at the whole system, not just one muscle group.

I had to jump on this trend because I really do LOVE my job. 🥹🤍

I love working with women.
I love empowering them to prioritize their well-being.
I love advocating for women to take care of their bodies through every stage of life.
I love guiding them through pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and postmenopause.
I love helping them get back to being active, doing the things they love, feeling strong and confident in their bodies, and reaching their highest wellness potential.

There’s something so special about being part of a woman’s journey through so many different seasons of her life.

I just really, really love my job. 🤍

One day you’re worried about looking good in photos. The next, you’re finally getting answers — like why that nagging shoulder pain turned out to be adhesive capsulitis (aka frozen shoulder). 😵‍💫

Perimenopause isn’t just hot flashes and irregular periods — that’s the version we’re told about. In my case, it showed up as frozen shoulder. Turns out estrogen plays a role in keeping connective tissue and joint capsules healthy, and as it declines, inflammation and stiffness in joints — especially shoulders — become far more common. It’s a real, documented connection, and it’s rarely the first thing anyone mentions when they talk about “the change.”

Perimenopause has definitely shifted my perspective. Health feels different now. Energy matters. Sleep matters. Strength matters. Feeling like yourself matters — and so does finally having a name for what’s going on in your body.

I’ll still take the photo. But these days I’m a lot more grateful for answers, for good lab work, and for a body that’s still telling me what it needs. 😅

Anyone else finding that their definition of “good news” has changed with age?🥰

More fiber. More water. Stronger laxatives. Still constipated?

Sometimes the real issue isn’t diet — it’s a pelvic floor muscle that won’t relax enough to let stool fully pass. The longer it sits, the worse it gets, which is why fiber alone doesn’t fix it.

Pelvic floor therapy teaches that muscle to relax and coordinate so you can fully empty. This is common, and it’s treatable. 🤍
