🚁 Building Strong Partnerships Before Day One 🚑

Today, the Pauls Valley AMR crew spent time working alongside our flight crew to become familiar with the aircraft, patient loading procedures, and the safe practices involved when working around a running helicopter.

Training together before it matters helps ensure everyone understands their role when the call comes in. That coordination between ground EMS and air medical crews is an important part of providing safe, efficient patient care.

We’re excited to work alongside the Pauls Valley AMR team and appreciate their commitment to training and preparation ahead of their official launch on September 1!

Here’s to strong teamwork, safe operations, and serving our communities together. 🚁🚑

Scenes like this are a great reminder that successful patient care is truly a team effort.

Multi-agency scene flights require a tremendous amount of coordination—from dispatch and communications, to fire and EMS crews establishing the scene, law enforcement providing access and safety, ground crews preparing the landing zone, and air medical teams working together to get the patient where they need to go.

When a complicated scene comes together smoothly, it’s because a lot of professionals from different agencies are communicating, anticipating each other’s needs, and working toward the same goal.

🚁 Happy World Helicopter Day!

Today is a great opportunity to celebrate an aircraft that has become much more than just a machine to many of us.

The Airbus H130 is an impressive helicopter—capable of cruising around 125 knots, reaching more than 325 nautical miles, and offering a large, versatile cabin that can be configured specifically for air medical operations.

But in Air Medical, the most impressive thing about a helicopter isn’t necessarily how fast it flies or how advanced the aircraft is. It’s what that capability allows us to do.

Helicopters allow critical-care teams to reach patients in rural communities, accident scenes, and locations far from advanced medical care. They give us the ability to bring the hospital closer to the patient and then rapidly transport that patient to the specialized care they need.

For those of us fortunate enough to fly these aircraft, it’s easy to appreciate the engineering—but it’s even more rewarding knowing the mission behind every flight.

Today, Jordi officially earned her wings by completing her very first patient flight—a milestone that marks the beginning of an incredible journey serving the communities of south-central Oklahoma.
