CALL to Action: Protect Special Education
On Thursday, June 25, we’re joining partners across the country for a National Call-In Day to Protect Special Education.
Recent proposals would move key offices that oversee special education and disability rights out of the U.S. Department of Education. This change could weaken protections and disrupt services for students with disabilities—rights guaranteed under IDEA.
📢💬 Your voice matters.
We’re asking Rhode Islanders to call our Congressional delegation and urge them to continue standing up for students with disabilities.
📢📞📱Who to Call:
Sen. Jack Reed: (401) 943-3100
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse: (401) 453-5294
Rep. Seth Magaziner: (401) 244-1201
Rep. Gabe Amo: (401) 729-5600
🗣️ What to say:
Share that you are a constituent and oppose moving special education oversight out of the Department of Education.
Ask them to stay engaged and protect the rights of students with disabilities. Calling makes the biggest impact—just a few minutes can make a BIG difference.
Together, we can protect the rights and futures of students with disabilities.
