CALL to Action: Protect Special Education
On Thursday, June 25, we’re joining partners across the country for a National Call-In Day to Protect Special Education.
Recent proposals would move key offices that oversee special education and disability rights out of the U.S. Department of Education. This change could weaken protections and disrupt services for students with disabilities—rights guaranteed under IDEA.

📢💬 Your voice matters.
We’re asking Rhode Islanders to call our Congressional delegation and urge them to continue standing up for students with disabilities.

📢📞📱Who to Call:
Sen. Jack Reed: (401) 943-3100
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse: (401) 453-5294
Rep. Seth Magaziner: (401) 244-1201
Rep. Gabe Amo: (401) 729-5600

🗣️ What to say:
Share that you are a constituent and oppose moving special education oversight out of the Department of Education.
Ask them to stay engaged and protect the rights of students with disabilities. Calling makes the biggest impact—just a few minutes can make a BIG difference.

Together, we can protect the rights and futures of students with disabilities.

Tell Congress: No One Should Go Hungry! The recent historical cuts to SNAP have left millions, including 14 million individuals with disabilities, vulnerable and struggling to secure adequate nutrition. With rising costs and many recipients juggling multiple jobs, it is vital that we advocate for the restoration of these essential benefits. Last year alone, nearly 3 million people lost their SNAP benefits. It is imperative that we unite to call on Congress to protect SNAP and ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.

💜Happy Father’s Day from The Arc Rhode Island! 💜
This Father’s Day, we celebrate the incredible dads, grandfathers, and father figures who show up every day with patience, love, and dedication.
For families of children with autism and other developmental disabilities, meaningful moments don’t have to be big or elaborate—simple, sensory-friendly activities can create the strongest connections.
Whether it’s:
🎨 Making a handprint card together
🧩 Building something side by side
🌿 Taking a calm nature walk
These shared experiences help children feel comfortable, supported, and connected—while creating lasting memories for the whole family.
At The Arc RI, we honor the fathers who meet their children where they are and celebrate their unique strengths every day.
This Father’s Day, we invite you to focus on what matters most: connection, joy, and time together.
