It was a hard day yesterday—A very hard day!
With many heavy hearts—our precious senior mini Little Jack has gone over the rainbow bridge to meet his former bonded companions Thunder and Annie.
Little Jack has been struggling for over a month—losing weight, and taking nine pills a day—But yesterday was different—not eating (even his favorite treats), having a hard time keeping his head up, and labored breathing—
Little Jack was telling us that it was time……
Little Jack came to Field of Dreams Therapy Farm with his bonded companion Thunder from Central New England Equine Rescue in September 2023 (our original minis at the farm).
From the first day Little Jack arrived at the farm, he became the farm favorite, and Little Jack loved the attention!
Little Jack and Thunder made a huge impact on children, teenagers, adults and seniors over the years—everyone adored our sweet bonded old men!
In January 2025 our farm family lost Thunder from cancer, and we were concerned that Little Jack would go into a depression—But then Heidi was adopted, and it was an immediate bonding experience—Heidi would not let Little Jack out of her sight!
Heidi was Little Jack’s constant companion until the end, and stood vigil over Little Jack after he passed.
Little Jack was buried with Thunder’s ashes surrounding him—They are together once more!
The Field of Dreams Farm Family would like to thank Vicky Berry and Betsy Johnson from Central New England Equine Rescue for trusting us with Little Jack and Thunder’s care.
Also, Dr. Pat, and her assistant Christina from EquiDoc Veterinary Services for assisting Little Jack with a peaceful passing.
And to our neighbors Gerry, and his grandson Hayden who gently, and compassionately buried Little Jack and Thunder together.
And lastly, to our Field of Dreams Farm Family for taking such great care, and loving Little Jack everyday for years!
RIP precious little man—We Love You—I will miss that little head, and those beautiful eyes looking into the grain room everyday as I prepared their breakfast, and dinner—It was like Little Jack was saying “Hurry Up Mom We Are Hungry!”
