Fall Pharmacy Check-In: A Few Things to Add to Your To-Do List

As we head into a new season, it’s a good time to take a few minutes to get your medications and pharmacy needs organized.

✔️ Clean out your medicine cabinet — Check for expired or unwanted medications and ask your pharmacy about safe disposal options.
✔️ Check your prescriptions — Take a look at your current prescriptions and make sure you’re not running low. If you have questions about refills, give your pharmacy a call.
✔️ Ask your pharmacist — Have questions about your prescriptions or pharmacy services? Our team is always here to help.

A little organization now can help make the busy fall season run a little more smoothly. Stop by or give us a call—we’re happy to help!

What can retail pharmacy learn from rural pharmacists? A lot, actually.

A recent feature on Dr. Jennifer Hammons of the Appalachian College of Pharmacy highlights something we believe in every single day at our local pharmacy: healthcare is personal. Rural pharmacists don't just fill prescriptions — they know their patients by name, understand their whole health picture, and build the kind of trust that comes from truly being part of a community.

That's the same philosophy we bring to every counter, every consultation, and every refill. You're not just a number here — you're our neighbor.

Come see the difference personalized pharmacy care makes.

Jennifer Hammons, director of rural health advancement at the Appalachian College of Pharmacy in Southwest Virginia, shares what it takes to be a pharmacist in a rural community.

Please join us in congratulating Brad Peterson from our NuCara Pharmacy in Waterloo as our Employee of the Month for January.

Brad consistently goes above and beyond for the patients we serve. During the winter months, he often takes extra time to brush snow off patients’ cars and clear safe paths so they can get to their vehicles safely. These small but meaningful acts of kindness make a big difference for our patients.

Brad’s thoughtfulness, compassion, and willingness to help others truly embody what exceptional patient care is all about. We are proud to have him on the NuCara team.

Congratulations, Brad, and thank you for all you do for our patients.
