🌱 Tomorrow is the First Day of The CWLC 2026–2027 program year, in our new location in ☮️ Peace Dale, RI ! 🌱

We are so excited to welcome our new and returning community members to The Children’s Wellness Learning Collaborative! ☀️

Our theme this year is Planting Seeds for Curiosity, Kindness & Growth 🌿 — and we’ll be bringing our theme to life in so many ways throughout the year.

We’ll be digging into hands-on projects, exploring estuaries and our natural environment, gardening at East Farm, writing our own books, collaborating with The Met School and URI’s Innovation Lab, growing our Kindness in Bloom micro business, hosting another business fair, and giving learners opportunities to Share Their Strengths by teaching and inspiring one another.

Along the way, we’ll plant plenty of other seeds too — new friendships, new interests, new ideas, confidence, creativity, and kindness. 🌻

This year, we’ll continue building a community where curiosity is encouraged, kindness matters, and every learner has something special to contribute.

Tomorrow we begin planting those first seeds, and we can’t wait to see what grows! ☀️

VOICES FOR THE WILD | WildFest 2026

WildFest is about more than celebrating wildlife- it’s about creating a space for our community to connect with some of the people and organizations working to protect animals, habitats, and the natural world around us.

For our inaugural WildFest, we’re excited to welcome an incredible group of organizations as our first Voices for the Wild!

Throughout the day, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with these organizations, learn more about the work they’re doing, and discover ways we can all make a difference for wildlife, animals, and the places we share.

Because we all have a role to play in protecting what is wild.

We’re always happy to highlight wonderful professionals and resources like Acorn Therapy Solutions, which is part of The Center for Counseling & Wellness. Our friends and colleagues at Acorn Therapy Solutions provide pediatric OT and speech services. Their program is designed to help children build skills, confidence, and independence. ☀️

The CWLC incorporates the Choose Love curriculum into our SEL program. Through intentional lessons and meaningful experiences, our learners explore courage, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion in action—skills that support emotional wellness, positive relationships, resilience, and a strong sense of community.
We look forward to planting these seeds throughout the year and watching them grow through conversations, projects, community experiences, and everyday moments of connection.

☀️🌊 🦀What a beautiful day bringing together our children and families for a summer beach get-together!

From exploring along the shoreline and searching for crabs to swimming, playing, and spending time together, the day was filled with laughter, friendship, and connection. 🐚🌊We love creating opportunities for our children and families to stay connected throughout the summer—strengthening friendships, building community, and making special memories together.

At The Children’s Wellness Learning Collaborative, learning and wellness extend beyond the classroom. Sometimes the very best moments happen with sandy feet, salty air, and friends by your side. 💙☀️

Thank you to Master Gardeners Mary Imbornone and Pam Rubinoff of URI’s East Farm for a wonderful tour and visit to East Farm. 🌿 As part of our planning for the upcoming program year at The Children’s Wellness Learning Collaborative, we are developing new relationships with local community partners. 🤝

We’re excited to begin collaborating with URI’s East Farm in order to bring even more hands-on, nature-based learning experiences to our community. From agriculture and sustainability to science, stewardship, and caring for the world around us, there are so many possibilities for learning beyond the classroom. 🌻🐝
