💥 HEALTH UPDATE 💥 From Keoki
Last Wednesday, I was blessed to have a Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter placed in my abdomen and the surgery went well! While it may sound intense, this is actually a very positive step forward. Since my fistula surgery didn’t work and caused pain and numbness in my hands, this became the best option. After a few months of healing and training, I’ll be able to do dialysis at home—and even travel. Our goal is to be managing this on our own by early next year. 🙏🏽
Over the past 5 months, I’ve had multiple hospitalizations for back, chest, and abdominal pain. Despite countless tests, no clear diagnosis was ever found, and I was sent home with pain meds each time. Thankfully, most of the pain has eased, and I’m finally experiencing some relief. 🎉
The silver lining is that all of these tests (EKGs, x-rays, ultrasounds, stress tests, blood work, and more) helped me check off several requirements toward being listed for a kidney transplant. That progress is a blessing we’re truly grateful for. ❤️
Ailyn () and I want to sincerely thank our family, friends, and Perpetual Roots Ohana for your endless love and support. Because of you, we are able to face each day with patience and perseverance. We’ll continue to keep you updated as we move forward—and when it’s time to begin the search for a donor. 🤙🏽
