Nose piercings are such a classic first piercing! I remember getting mine done when I was 12 with a gun, in a little corner mall in Boston. We have come such a long way, normalize bringing your kids to a professional piercer who only uses single use, hollow needles!

Let's talk about jewelry length for a second!
Most piercings require longer or larger jewelry during the healing process to accomodate for swelling- especially during the first 3 to 6 weeks for oral piercings, 6 to 8 weeks for other piercings. The initial length of jewelry you get pierced with depends on your anatomy, jewelry is NOT and should NOT be "one size fits all 🚩"

Some piercings require a lot of extra length, resulting in multipe downsizes.The eyebrow is one of the few piercings where it doesn't swell too much- you don't need a lot of extra length. You will probably only need to downsize once, if you ever really need to!

So why do these barbells look so long if you don't really need that much extra length? Well, 2 piercings close to each other may or may not cause excess swelling and seeing as these piercings are technically this client's first actual piercings- we don't really know how much they are going to swell! Its better to have a little extra length rather than having to install longer jewelry in a few days once the most swelling occurs. Sometimes it is just better to play it safe!

I performed most of these piercings, I thought it would be a good idea to show some progress photos! I did those triple flat piercings about 4 or 5 years ago I think. daith is pretty much fully healed and this snug is still healing but ready for a downsize. On the other side is a fully healed tragus that I forgot to take a photo of 🙃
