As I closed up at my last big rally away event... ( i have been gone basically the last 3 months vendoring in the food trailer) and when I say I slept more in a tent/camper this summer then my own bed, I did. And yes I made the choice to do that for what I love doing.
I think back on how blessed I am...for all the people that trusted and let me feed them, EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU touch my heart with happiness and I so needed happiness this summer, more then anyone can understand.
I set out with a goal this summer, to work in the food trailer enough so I wouldn't have to work 3 jobs through the winter to pay basic expenses. As yes, I run 2 businesses and 2 part time jobs. And expenses are VERY high. I came close, so i will still be shoveling snow with the kids, and staying busy.
I cant even say enough a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone of the people (you all know who you are) that held me up, encouraged me to keep going, and helped me when i wanted to give up, and cry.
To my amazing husband Scott Harkema for fixing all the things, rescuing me as I broke down, blown a tire, or just needed to be held by encouraging/loving me, and to my darling son Caleb Mcclain for understanding, for working so hard all summer, for helping out more then he needed to and for being patient while I have been gone.
I still have events booked, and will be out and about, but for now im going to sleep in my own bed, enjoy my own shower, and try to recover from working 20hr days.
