Many thanks to acclaimed jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey musical director Vince di Mura for his recent performance in the Investors Bank Art & Healing Gallery at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell. Staff, patients, visitors, and volunteers enjoyed autumn-inspired favorites and audience song requests to help welcome the fall season. We’re excited to announce the opening of Capital Health Heart and Vascular Institute – Hamilton, located in Suites 203 and 206 in the Whitehorse Executive Center (1225 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, Hamilton, New Jersey). This new location, across from the Hamilton Township Police Department, is now home to Capital Health Cardiology Specialists – Hamilton and an Outpatient Diagnostic Services center that offers a wide range of cardiovascular testing. Thanks to everyone who joined us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, including Hamilton Township Mayor Jeff Martin and Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello. Our fall Community Baby Shower was recently held at the Trenton War Memorial, where 300 attendees received guidance and support to help their growing families get off to a healthy start with grocery bags, educational materials, diapers, and other supplies. The event featured more than 40 tables for pregnant and recently delivered individuals and their support people, including representatives from our Bristol Myers Squibb Trauma at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Lactation Center, Childbirth Education, Capital Health OB/GYN, Emergency Medical Services, Simulation Lab, For My Baby & Me, Labor and Delivery, Mother-Baby Unit, and the Wellness Center. Thanks to everyone who joined us to make this a great day, with special thanks to our local elected representatives for their support, including New Jersey Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson, Senator Shirley K. Turner, Assemblyman Anthony S. Verrelli, Mayor of Trenton Reed Gusciora, Council Vice President Jennifer Williams (North Ward), Councilwoman At Large Crystal Feliciano, Councilwoman Teska T. Flowers-Frisby (West Ward), and Councilwoman At Large Yazminelly Gonzalez.

Capital Health Cancer Center recently hosted a continuing medical education and networking event at Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, where clinicians shared important information about current advances in women’s cancer care. Dr. Yi Huang from our Center for Comprehensive Breast Care and Dr. Joyce Varughese from our Center for Gynecologic Oncology discussed the latest treatment options they offer, while Dr. Ria Kraft and Dr. Jennifer Hong shared updates in radiation oncology and breast oncology, respectively. Rounding out the evening, Nurse Practitioner Kathie Olsen from our Center for Incontinence and Pelvic Health shared details about our Cancer Center’s IMPACT program, which helps women navigate healing and intimacy after treatment. Thanks to our speakers and to everyone who joined us for this informative evening!

Bravo to Brittnie Cerdas from Timberlane Middle School (Pennington, NJ), who was among the winners of our “Post Positive” Video Contest! As part of our Capital Healthy Students initiative, this year’s campaign challenged middle school students throughout Mercer and Bucks counties to pause and think before they post to social media, with the goal of fostering a more thoughtful and inclusive online culture. Brittnie was the winner in the “Honorable Mention” category and received an award certificate from Rebecca Kelly, executive director of Strategic Partnerships at Capital Health and lead for the Capital Healthy Students initiative. Timberlane Middle School also received a $2,000 award for its PTO/PTA.
