This week is all about our PAs, and honestly, one week isn’t enough.

At Global Neurosciences Institute, our PAs are in the OR, in clinic, and at the bedside, often in the same day. They manage complex neuro cases, keep care moving between visits, and take the extra time that turns a hard diagnosis into a clear plan.

Our surgeons will tell you the same thing our patients do: this practice doesn’t run without them.

Earlier this month, the Global Neurosciences Institute neurosurgery team led by Rudy J. Rahme, MD, FAANS, did something no one in South Jersey had done before: implanted the SetPoint® System, a new FDA-approved therapy for rheumatoid arthritis. Today, that story is official.

Why it matters: until now, an RA patient in South Jersey who was a candidate for this therapy had to travel out of the region for it. Now the path is local. Their rheumatologist identifies them, GNI performs the procedure at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, and they go home, back under the care of the doctor who knows them.

Dr. Rahme put it simply: "By working closely with rheumatologists across the region, we can offer RA patients access to a new FDA-approved, device-based therapy." The first cases are complete, and more are scheduled this fall.

A first for South Jersey, from GNI.

On September 9, Dr. Rudy Rahme performed South Jersey's first SetPoint® System procedures for rheumatoid arthritis at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. The SetPoint System is FDA-approved for rheumatoid arthritis.

Global Neurosciences Institute is currently the only group in South Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland offering it. Patients are referred by their rheumatologist and treated close to home.
