This isn’t easy for me to post by any means but I’m tired. I’m fu***ng tired and angry. Those who are close to me know what this past year has involved but most don’t. The hardest part is those who do know don’t even know the whole story.

From early in there was a precedence set that some people thought they were getting ahead of it and warping the truth to what they wanted the narrative to be. I thought I was doing the right thing by keeping quiet and not opening up about it because that would make it easier for everyone. The only one who it was easier for was the one who caused this.

So this is me taking back my truth. I have never been good at explaining what’s going on in my head but my art does. And that’s what I’m going to use to share my story.

This first piece is called “Voiceless”

I wanted this piece to show the complexity of being unable to speak on something. Whether it’s because you have fear for your safety, a coercion of power or just unable to find the words. Our mouths might be bound but our anger stays in us. Coiled like a serpent ready to strike. It’s only a matter of time before it breaks out.

My hopes with this piece is that anyone who feels like they can’t or aren’t ready to speak up can feel seen and heard. You’re not alone, we can stand together.
