It has been a whirlwind of a summer.

But I am so happy to announce that Ladder to the Stars has been chosen by Studer Community Institute for their Venture Mentoring Program!

Words cannot describe the excitement and how much I'm looking forward to spending the next year being mentored by the area's finest in the world of entrepreneurship.

The sweetest small town with some of our favorites, sarah Andrew & Sarah (The McWilsons) and their new venture SQUIRREL CROSSING

We explored, hiked, were greeted by everyone (who all knew Sarah & Andrew), enjoyed their air bnb space together with Copper the dog, slid down rocks in the swimming hole, and unfortunately had to work together when Nate took a sacrificial tumble to spare Avett a worse fate.

Shout out to sarah for keeping the kids cool in the truck while we had to drive to an ER and having a fun afternoon watching them as we waited there.

Never a dull moment on this trip.

💙Time flies when you’re having fun💙

THANK YOU Pensacola. Because of you, I’m able to provide the care I want to and believe in so much.

Three years ago, I was told that I could not compete with the corporate practices. But I believed that building relationships with my patients would win out because people don’t choose their doctors based on hospital systems; they choose them based on the way they make them feel heard, and whether they partner with them in shared decision-making.

And can you believe it? Taking a huge risk paid off.

To anyone considering DPC and breaking away, I can do nothing but tell you that while the days are long and the work is hard, I have never felt more fulfilled than what I do, nor more aligned with my personal values as a physician AND a human.

Two years down, like 40 more to go!

The only thing more exciting than talking to eighth graders about a life in Direct Primary Care Practice was visiting with many of my old mentors who poured themselves into me when I was a first year teacher.

They always knew I was at school because I would blare 90s music through the surround sound speakers.

Life is always coming full circle and I’m here for it.
