I just want everyone to know that you don't have to eat a basic sandwich. You can eat a fancy sandwich.

I just made this last night.

1. sauté garlic, sweet onion in butter until translucent
2. toss in cherry tomatoes but not too long, we dont want them to pop!
3. take it all out of the pan and put it in a bowl to sit
4. rebutter pan and throw in 3 eggs
5. move the eggs around quickly so they don't get dry, and take off the heat until they look like velvet
6. eggs go on the prep plate (yes when I cook for myself I have a prep plate)
6. toss a little olive oil in the pan
7. take two beautiful slices of sourdough and gently soak up the oil on both sides then let them sit and grill
8. flip bread and take a raw clove of garlic and rub the flavor onto the now grilled bread
9. two slices of provolone on each slice, letting it melt while the other side grills
10. bread off, slices down, take some of the cooked cherry tomatoes and smash them right on the provolone, then the velvety eggs, then the rest of the tomatoes, garlic, and onions on top

Oh and super important cooking tip... everything should taste good by itself. That means salt and pepper everything like a crazy person.

Petition to only eat fancy sandwiches.

Don't ask if this is healthy. That is not the right question.

Fun fact:
You can accelerate healing from an injury by eating right. You need materials to rebuild a house, why wouldn't you need materials to rebuild the body.

So, buy some steak. Eat it. Then buy some more.

Just a reminder that if you build a house, but the materials needed for building are constantly delayed, it will take a ...

Just a reminder that if you build a house, but the materials needed for building are constantly delayed, it will take a LONG time to finish construction.

This is obviously an analogy for something but I think you get the point.

In a world where everyone stretched consistently, and had good posture, I wouldn't have a job.

If your knee hurts, its probably your quad. Wait... didn't I just say the same thing about your back. Yep! Are there more pieces to the puzzle? Yeah yeah, but its still probably your quad.

Torn muscle?

Don't stretch it. Move it gently through a non-painful range of motion to increase blood flow. You wouldn't stretch a rubber band that's torn, so treat your muscle the same way.

If your back hurts, it's probably your quads. Yeah there's more to it than that. But... it's probably your quads.

IBS tip:
I had an IBS patient once go on vacation and while she was there she decided to just not care. She called it "vacation diet". While she was there she ate whatever she wanted and interestingly enough she didn't have any symptoms.

This is not to say that her IBS was not fully present, but it was highly associated with her mental stress levels aka her stress hormones affecting her GI track function.

IBS symptoms are associated with many things, but one major thing that is rarely addressed, is the presence of high levels of stress.

Stress hormones negate healthy digestion which can lead to poor function of the GI track during meals.

Something as simple as deep belly breathing aka activation of the vagal nerve, prior to eating can drastically help promote healthy digestion by activating your parasympathetic nervous system.

This is of course only a piece of the puzzle but can be a great trick to help the body relax before a meal.
