As children, we witnessed the world through this lens of pure wonder. We felt life to be a grand adventure—a magical kingdom waiting to be explored. Our minds were like sponges, absorbing knowledge effortlessly, learning at a pace we rarely experience as adults.

What happened to that sense of wonder?

Where did that natural curiosity go?

It didn't just vanish…

That childlike ability of wonder is still there, simply buried beneath layers of conditioning and expectation, waiting to again be excavated and rediscovered…

Throughout my personal life and professional career, I’ve come to realize that life can often be very confusing and painful—and that’s okay.

Hardship and monotony are equally as important as ease and novelty.

Melancholy and doubt are just as valuable as happiness and vigor.

Loss and longing are just as meaningful as joy and fulfillment.

By embracing these dichotomies, I become more resilient and able to carry the weight of life with steadiness and care.

I’m beginning to experience that life isn’t about striving or achieving something extraordinary, but rather appreciating its ordinariness:

the warmth of those small conversations with loved ones;

the sight of the sunlight shining through the treetops;

the smell of dew in the early morning.

Amidst the complexity of life’s changes, these are the subtle signals that call me Home to the place within me of peace and presence...

If you’ve been following my posts and stories, you’ll know that I recently took a leap of faith and booked a flight to a part of the world I’ve been drawn to for nearly a decade…

Spain—specifically its southern regions.

This single trip has opened my eyes, heart, and mind in ways I’m still working to understand.

So naturally, I’ll be writing about my experiences and sharing the insights I was gifted along the way…

Insights into culture, connection, passion, lifestyle, and meaning…

Thank you all for being here, and I look forward to including you in my journey.

I don’t believe humans are meant to move so quickly all the time...

The evidence for this is clear.

We now know scientifically that chronic stress is one of the leading causes of illness in the modern world: prolonged tension in the body and mind inevitably gives rise to disease.

As children, we understand this intuitively, but that wisdom often gets buried beneath layers of cultural conditioning.

A major part of my own personal transformation came from learning to relate to other cultures of the world, particularly Japanese, Indian, and Spanish.

By looking beyond our own borders, we can discover new ways of being that nourish our health and well-being.

“No hay prisa,” as the Spaniards say—there’s no rush.

The more I grow into myself, the more I think of the quiet, shy child I used to be.

This week’s reflection is a gentle reminder: the very parts of us we once hid from the world may hold our greatest strength.

Modern life offers unlimited options—24/7 notifications, endless feeds, infinite streaming—and with it comes constant distraction and decision fatigue.

This week’s video explores how the paradox of choice leaves us anxious and unfocused, and why true fulfillment is found not in endless freedom but in committing deeply to one meaningful path.

Drawing on insights from psychology and wisdom from Paulo Coelho, Tim Ferris, and Ralph Waldo Emerson, this video invites you to narrow your focus, simplify your life, and discover the freedom that only commitment can bring.

In this video you’ll learn:

-How endless choice fragments attention and drains mental energy

-Why commitment creates direction, purpose, and long-term fulfillment

-Practical ways to simplify your life and cultivate mastery

This week, I’m sharing something a bit different with you all:

The following post is a realistic fictional short story that I wrote back in undergrad, and it’s based on the realities of addiction and the abuse of prescription medication.

As a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern who has been trained in the field of addiction recovery, I’ve seen the impact of addiction firsthand. I know that it isn’t an easy topic to confront or even acknowledge.

This short story shows that sometimes addiction has the potential to impact even those who seemingly “have it all together.” It also implies that addiction often lurks in the shadows and sneaks up on us when we’re least expecting it.

Please be aware that this post is a bit more abrasive than my usual—it uses explicit language and contains some imagery that’s pretty emotionally heavy. This intensity, in my view, is necessary to convey the main mental-health message while deeply understanding what those dealing with addiction are going truly through.

As always—thank you for reading and continuing to support my work, and make sure to leave a comment below with your own stories and experiences. Please know that this is a space where we can all support one another.

So lately, I’ve been obsessed with this phenomenon of burnout culture that we see in the United States and much of the Western world..

As a mental health counselor intern, I have opted to work part-time for the sake of giving more care and attention to my clients in their time of need.

I have found that this is how we truly heal as individuals and as a society:

-Slow the pace of our lives
-Create sustainable lifestyles of meaning, purpose, and vitality
-Give more quality service to the people around us

What do all of you think?

Have any of you guys seen/experienced burnout culture firsthand as well?

What do you think the sustainable work culture of the future might look like for humans?
