Mentally Anonymous

Mentally Anonymous The therapeutic value of the sense of community and peer-to-peer support is without parallel within the aspect of mental wellness.

At Mentally Anonymous we believe in AAA: We do not diagnose rather we believe in Awareness, Advocacy, and Accompanying.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, Mentally Anonymous volunteers gathered in reflection and remembrance at the Peoria Veterans Memorial.

Director of Strategic Initiatives Joysaphine Waitman-Powell reaffirmed Mentally Anonymous’ commitment to advocating for veterans, military families, and those carrying the invisible wounds of service from PTSD, trauma, grief, to loss.❤️‍🩹

This reflection moment was led by lead volunteer and veteran Clark McGee, alongside veterans of all branches and family members of veterans.

Today, we honor our heroes, remember the fallen, and recommit ourselves to innovative mental wellness services for those who have served our country. 🇺🇸🕊️

🇺🇸 Today, Veteran Antonio Washington reflects at one of his favorite places, the Peoria Veterans Memorial, in honor of the friends and brothers who never made it home. 🕊️❤️‍🩹

In his reflection, he also shares the importance of mental wellness services, community, and connecting with organizations like Mentally Anonymous in times like these when grief, trauma, and remembrance can weigh heavily on veterans and their families.

Today reminds us to honor, remember, and continue serving those who served our country with courage. 🇺🇸

This week, Mentally Anonymous was honored to participate in the Arizona Housing Coalition 2026 Annual Conference, There’s No Place Like Home”.

During the session, From the Pews to the Planning Commission: Faith, Civic Power, and Housing Stability, our Director of Strategic Initiatives, Joysaphine Waitman-Powell, shared her personal childhood experience with being under-sheltered and spoke about the true causes of homelessness and housing instability, reminding attendees that housing instability does not look one way. Our mental health is affected through all of our experiences, at this conference she transparently shared how we should address housing instability to advocate for mental health and wellness around our state.

Through collaborative dialogue and storytelling, the session created space for leaders, advocates, and partners across Arizona to connect, exchange ideas, and begin building solutions together.

We are especially excited about the momentum from this session, including strong interest in our upcoming virtual BrainTrust launching in June. As we continue building relationships across the state, we remain committed to sharing resources, creating impact, and advancing real solutions that strengthen communities and improve lives.

Awareness. Advocacy. Accompanying. 💚

Gratitude doesn’t erase every challenge, but it can help ground us through them. Today, we’re choosing to focus on what’s still good, still growing, and still possible.

✨ Introducing the Power & Purpose Project ✨

At Mentally Anonymous, we believe that purpose is directly connected to mental wellness and that access should never be the barrier.

That’s why we’re excited to launch the Power & Purpose Project, a community-driven initiative designed to support emerging leaders, entrepreneurs, and advocates with:

✔️ Affordable, hands-on support (business, branding, lifestyle & wellness)
✔️ Donation-based services to keep growth accessible
✔️ The Power & Purpose Fund, helping cover costs for conferences, workshops, wellness events, and more

This is a space where we grow together, where leaders can both receive support and pour back into others.

Because when one of us grows, we all grow.

“Purpose should not be a luxury, it is essential to mental wellness.”

We’re excited to share that Mentally Anonymous’s Director of Strategic Initiatives, Joysaphine Waitman-Powell, will be presenting at the Arizona Housing Coalition’s 2026 Annual Conference, There’s No Place Like Home.

As a nonprofit executive and Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the City of Peoria since 2020, Joysaphine has served in public office and actively advocated for affordable and attainable housing locally and statewide.

Her session, “From the Pews to the Planning Commission: Faith, Civic Power, and Housing Stability,” will highlight the powerful connection between lived experience, community leadership, and housing stability.

This work is deeply important to us, and we’re proud to see Joysaphine representing Mentally Anonymous in such a meaningful space.

Wellness doesn’t start in a meeting room. Sometimes it starts with a walk.

At Mentally Anonymous, we’re launching community wellness walks beginning in South Peoria, with plans to expand walking groups across Arizona.

These walks are about mental wellness + physical wellness, side by side.
Fresh air. Gentle movement. Real conversation.

We’re creating space to talk about:
• What’s keeping us up at night
• The weight of the world right now
• Stress, anxiety, burnout, and hope
• And how community connection can be a form of care

Some walks will be early and calm.
Some will be after work and conversational.
All will be judgment-free, accessible, and rooted in community care.

This is part of our broader commitment to preventative mental wellness, meeting people where they are and reminding us that healing doesn’t always require a couch, sometimes it just needs good shoes and good people. Whether that is 1 or 2 people or 10.

More details coming soon as we grow these walks throughout the state.

You’re welcome exactly as you are.💚
