Some gifts are so much more than the gift itself.

This beautiful Our Lady of Lourdes plate was given to me today by a very special patient and friend—someone God placed in my life nearly 30 years ago.

I first met her in 1997, when I was a first-year resident and she worked in the lab at OSF. Whenever I made my way to the lab, we would visit and catch up. And in her kind, quiet, peaceful way, she would pray over me. Those moments stayed with me.

When I opened my practice in 2001, she became one of my patients, and she has been with me ever since.

She has treasured this beautiful plate for many, many years, and today she gave it to me in honor of my 25th anniversary in practice. I was incredibly touched by the gift—but even more touched when, just as she had done all those years ago when I was a young resident, she prayed over me again today.

What a beautiful full-circle moment.

For nearly three decades, I have watched her live her faith with such grace, kindness, humility, and peace. She is truly a gift from God, and I cherish the friendship that has grown between us over all these years.

As I celebrate 25 years of caring for women, I am reminded that medicine has given me so much more than a career. It has brought extraordinary people into my life who have taught me, encouraged me, prayed for me, and made me a better person.

I will treasure this plate always—not only for the beautiful image of the Virgin Mary, but because it will forever remind me of the woman who gave it to me and her steadfast faith in the goodness of humanity.

I can only hope to lead my life with the same faith, kindness, and grace that she has shown me for all these years. 💙

Proud to officially be a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP).

After 25 years of caring for women through every stage of life, menopause care has become a true passion of mine. This certification is earned through professional eligibility and a comprehensive examination assessing knowledge of evidence-based menopause care.

It reinforces my commitment to helping women feel informed, heard, and supported throughout perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.

Some friendships are simply timeless. ❤️

It was such a joy to unexpectedly cross paths with my dear friend and former colleague, Sue Lang, CNM, last night. Sue and I spent many years delivering babies side by side, sharing long days, sleepless nights, countless miracles, and so many wonderful memories.

Seeing her again brought back so many smiles and reminded me how special those years were. So grateful our paths crossed again. 💕
