Last week, we joined some of our sister campuses for a resident retreat to Epworth Forest! Bernadette and Joan got to take a scenic boat ride around Lake Webster, throw axes, try wood burning for the first time, and also enjoyed live music and a magic show! It was a beautiful day packed with fun and fellowship, and felt just like being at summer camp! We already can’t wait for next year!

Today was all about Betty. 💛

For her Live A Dream, Betty wanted something beautifully simple—to try the new Japanese food truck she’s been dying to visit, enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, and visit the new splash pad in town.

This day felt especially meaningful. Betty lost a dear friend just recently, and while we know that grief doesn’t simply disappear, today brought a little light back in. Seeing her smiling, laughing, exploring, and simply enjoying the day was such a beautiful reminder of why Live A Dream is so special.

Sometimes a dream isn’t about going somewhere far away or doing something extravagant. Sometimes it’s about giving someone a day that feels completely and wonderfully theirs.

Betty, we hope today gave your heart exactly what it needed. You deserve every single smile. ✨

Some dreams stay in our hearts for a lifetime. 🌺✨
Recently, we had the incredible privilege of making one of Betty’s come true. Through our Live A Dream program, we transformed our community into a Hawaiian paradise so Betty could experience the luau she had always dreamed of. The joy on her face when she was surprised by her family and friends, surrounded by beautiful decorations, music, and an authentic Polynesian hula dancer, is something we’ll never forget. Days like these remind us that creating meaningful moments isn’t just about an event—it’s about giving someone a memory to hold onto, celebrating a life well lived and what is to come, and showing that dreams are worth chasing at every stage of life. Thank you to everyone who helped make this beautiful day possible- including the PHS class of ‘76 for lending and helping set up their fantastic, homemade luau decor. The day was filled with love, laughter, happy tears, and a little bit of aloha. 💛🌴🌺

Our staff and residents took part in the annual circus parade. This year’s theme is Circus ‘66- inspired by Route 66. Iconic Route 66 drive-in diners and cafes defined early American road trips, serving as vital social hubs and refueling stops every 50 miles. Today, they remain legendary for their nostalgic 1950s architecture, quirky roadside attractions, and classic comfort food like burgers, malts, and fries. We hope everyone enjoyed our classic drive-in diner inspired float as much as we enjoyed putting it together! We would like to send a special thank you to our Peru Family Farm and Home for letting us borrow this fantastic trailer for our float! 🥤🍔🏁🎶🎪

We were honored to celebrate the retirement of Dave Harris after 13 years at Blair Ridge! ☺️❤️

Over the years, Dave has built lasting relationships with our residents, employees, and community through his kindness, hard work, and outstanding customer service. He has been a dependable member of our team and someone we could always count on.

One of Dave’s most incredible accomplishments is maintaining perfect attendance throughout all 13 years he worked here—never missing a single day of work. His dedication and commitment to serving our residents is something truly worth celebrating. 🤩

Dave, thank you for everything you’ve done for Blair Ridge over the past 13 years. We are so grateful for the time you’ve spent with us and the impact you’ve made on so many people.

Friday was a day of celebration at Blair Ridge! ❤️

We were honored to recognize Juneteenth, Pride Month, and our amazing employees who make our community such a special place.

As part of our Census BBQ ER3 celebration, employees enjoyed a fun afternoon filled with food fresh-off-the-grill, a lemonade bar, sweet treats, and exciting prize giveaways.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, compassion, and hard work our team brings each day. From our housekeepers and dining staff to our nurses and every department in between, each person plays an important role in caring for our residents and making Blair Ridge feel like home 🏡☀️🎉

Not all dreams are "big." Sometimes, it's as simple as spending the day doing exactly what you want to do. Millie is an avid reader- she quickly read her way through our library and said it would be a dream come true to spend as long as she wanted in a bookstore and pick out as many books as she wants. Today, it was our pleasure to make that happen for her! She enjoyed a leisurely morning at the book store, with a stop for lunch on the way home. Millie is already reading one of her new books! Thank you to Live A Dream for making any dream possible for our residents, big or small. ✨📚🩵
