Saturday morning strategy session! 🚢☕️

Jack and I are starting our morning with a very serious game of Battleship. So far, there’s been a lot of guessing, a little trash talk, and plenty of “Are you SURE you didn’t move that ship?!” 😂

Sometimes the best part of the weekend is slowing down, enjoying a cup of coffee, and spending a little time with your favorite people. 💙

And yes… we’re definitely putting our listening skills to the test. 😉👂

🌧️ Rain, rain… and more rain!

With all the storms and wet weather we’ve had lately, it’s a good time for a reminder: hearing aids and moisture don’t always mix! ☔👂

Many of today’s hearing aids are designed to be water- and moisture-resistant, which helps with an unexpected rain shower, humidity, or a little sweat. But water-resistant doesn’t mean waterproof.

A few easy ways to protect your hearing aids:
💧 Keep them out of the shower and pool
☔ Try to keep them covered during heavy rain
🧻 If they get wet, gently wipe them with a clean, dry cloth
♨️ Consider using an at-home hearing aid dryer or dehumidifier overnight—especially during humid summer weather

And if your hearing aids get really wet? Don’t panic! At all of our Theos Audiology locations, we have a Redux Pro professional drying system that can help remove moisture from hearing aids.

Even if your hearing aids seem to be working normally, moisture can sometimes cause problems over time. Regular at-home drying can be a great part of your hearing aid care routine, and we’re here when they need a little extra help.

Stay dry out there—and keep those hearing aids dry, too! ☔👂

🎒📚 Back to school season is here! 📚🎒

Today was Jack’s first day of 2nd grade, and we can’t quite figure out how that happened so fast! 💙

As kids head back to the classroom, it’s a great reminder of just how much of their school day depends on hearing and listening — from following their teacher’s instructions to learning new things, making friends, and joining in classroom conversations.

As an audiologist, I love when everyday technology helps people become more aware of their hearing.

Once in a while I will be alerted by my Apple Watch alert for high noise levels.

Someone will mention getting a tap on their wrist in a busy restaurant or a sporting event and it catches them off guard!

“I didn’t realize it was that loud.”

Those moments are more helpful than they might seem.

Noise exposure isn’t always obvious in the moment, and it’s not just about sudden, extreme sounds. It’s also about how long you’re in those environments and how often your ears are working in higher noise levels.

The alert is a reminder to check in: Is this environment louder than I thought?

Do I need to step away, lower the volume, or use protection?

Because hearing health isn’t just about addressing changes later, it’s also about protecting what you have now!
