Ready to make a real impact every day in Hermosa Beach? Come to our open interview hiring event!

As a Behavior Technician, you’ll provide one-on-one therapy to children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodiversities in a supportive environment where growth and progress happen every day.

We welcome people with backgrounds of all levels, including teachers, paraprofessionals, coaches, as well as nannies, babysitters, caregivers, CNAs, camp counselors, retail and hospitality employees, or anyone who has supported someone with autism. We provide all training, and pay is $23 - $27 per hour depending on experience.

Momentum Behavior Services

Momentum Behavior Services provides individualized ABA therapy for autistic individuals and people with diverse needs across the lifespan, with an approach grounded in compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming and assent-based care. Its focus is on meaningful progress in communication, social connection and daily living through engaging, real-world learning experiences that support greater independence.

Since founding Momentum in 2018, CEO Seth Franz has focused on a challenge facing organizations across the autism services field: expanding access while maintaining a commitment to clinical excellence. His goal is to build sustainable models of care while developing strong clinical and operational teams and reaching underserved communities.

That commitment makes Momentum an important voice as NSAP brings professionals and organizations together to share what’s working and help shape what comes next for autism services.

What does ABA therapy works on? Our answer: it depends!
Every program at Momentum is individualized to each learner to focus on what matters most to them; however, there are some skills that we typically work on in ABA.

Depending on each learner's goals, ABA therapy can focus on:
- Communication, from first words to complex conversations
- Social skills, including making friends, reading social cues, and joining group activities
- Self-regulation and managing big feelings
- Daily living skills and independence
- Academic readiness and school-based skills

Every goal is set with your family, based on what matters most for your learner's life right now.

Transitions can be one of the hardest parts of the day, moving from playtime to dinner, from home to the car, from one activity to the next.

A few things that can help: give a warning before the transition happens, use a visual or verbal countdown, and keep the next activity predictable so your child knows what's coming. Consistency matters more than any single trick. The more familiar the routine, the easier the transition tends to be.
