My name is Tiffany Nossett I was born and raised in pike county. I am a wife and a mother of 3 boys. When I'm not at home i spend my time at either a baseball or soccer field. I am a recovering alcoholic and have been sober for over 2 years. Since joining CEDA and wanting to help out in my community, brought Rise Peer Recovery into my life and have been blessed to work for them at Dubois County IRACS team for the last 4 months.

CEDA is a non profit organization based out of Pike county with the goal to help end drug abuse. CEDA is a hub for all resources for anyone starting recovery, in recovery or family and friends who know someone dealing with addiction. CEDA has a diverse group of people volunteering to make these resources possible from the public library, the health dept, sheriff office and prosecutors office along with RISE which makes being able to help utilize all resources possible. Just a group of individuals with one goal.

One thing i wish people understood about recovery, prevention or substance use is that a person's addiction or fear of recovery does not make them a "bad" person. Being in recovery doesn't have to be shameful, a person can own their story , show others mistakes aren't permanent and recovering loudly (or at least not alone) can not only fuel your own journey but show others RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE.

Meet CEDA's Vice President Chad Smith

Hi, I’m Chad Smith-a husband, father of two, and proud grandpa. God and my family are the center of my life and mean everything to me. Since becoming free from addiction in 2018, I’ve developed a deep sense of compassion and understanding for others. For the past year, I’ve worked at RISE RECOVERY where I’m grateful to use my personal experience to support and connect with people.

CEDA (Coalition to End Drug Abuse) is an organization focused on helping people affected by substance use and addiction. It connects individuals with support, resources, recovery services, and people who understand what they’re going through, with the goal of helping them build healthier, stable lives in recovery.

One thing I wish people understood about addiction and recovery is that the person struggling with substance use is still a person worthy of compassion, hope, and another chance. Recovery is possible, but it takes courage, support, and people who are willing to see beyond someone’s past. I know from my own experience that a person’s worst chapter does not have to be the end of their story.

Fun fact about me that most people don’t know: I’m a huge sports fan! I love the Braves, Colts, and Indiana Hoosiers, and recently I’ve found myself becoming a pretty big Indiana Fever fan too. 👉

👤 Brief Introduction

My name is Scott Arnold, and I serve as a Detective with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and as the President of CEDA (Commission to End Drug Abuse). I am passionate about serving our community and helping connect people with the resources they need to build healthier, stronger lives.

🤝 How would you describe CEDA to someone who’s never heard of it?

CEDA is much more than an organization focused on substance use, it is a community resource hub dedicated to helping the citizens of Pike County. Whether someone is seeking recovery support, rehabilitation services, prevention resources, or assistance with other life challenges, CEDA works to connect them with the right people and organizations.

Our team includes representatives from law enforcement, Purdue Extension, the Health Department, County Council, RISE Peer Recovery, private medical providers, the Prosecutor’s Office, the Pike County Public Library, and many other community partners. By bringing these organizations together, CEDA is able to gather information, coordinate resources, and help guide Pike County residents toward the support they need.

💡 What’s one thing you wish more people understood about recovery, prevention, or substance use?

Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Every person is different, and everyone is at a different stage in life. Because of that, the path to recovery and the support someone needs will look different from person to person. Meeting people where they are and providing individualized support gives them the best opportunity to succeed.

😊 Fun Fact About Me

One thing most people don’t know about me is that I’m a “yes” person when it comes to helping others. If it benefits someone in our community, I’m usually all in.

I love Pike County and want to see it continue to prosper because it’s my home. In addition to serving as a Detective and President of CEDA, I also serve as a youth minister and promote mixed martial arts events through Southern Indiana Combat Production.

I grew up in a difficult environment where abuse and substance use shaped much of my childhood. Those experiences have fueled my passion for helping others. While my job often involves making narcotics arrests, the moments that mean the most to me are hearing that someone’s life has changed and that addiction no longer has a hold on them. Those success stories remind me why this work matters. I will always be a cheerleader for the underdog and believe that recovery is possible.
